I agreed w half of what he said I guess. All the background and finger pointing shite was lame. His point and inferences this was all for naught over 2 decades is correct but we all could've told them that since Bush.
Nearly everyone agrees with that. That’s why he started the speech with it. It’s called pandering.

I wanted to hear some firm shite directed to the Taliban to stand down and let us work, though. That if you fire a shot, we'll fire 100.
I wanted to hear him detail why he didn’t evacuate Americans and at risk Afghanis before we turned the lights off. He won’t tell you that this blew up bc he ignored intelligence saying this would happen quickly.

If it take a couple hundred media members dying at the hands of the Taliban to get a somehwat unbiased press again, it would be well worth it.
that wouldn't change the money flow to big corporate media. the media members are just sheep doing as they are told.

I was unaware the rapid reaction force from the 82nd Airborne deployed to Kuwait were supposed to be on the ground on Thursday, then Sunday they were diverted direct to Kabul and this evening they are still delayed in arriving because of the fiasco at the airport.
This is why he is pulling the plug and leaving everyone behind probably as soon as tomorrow in my opinion.

This perplexes me too. You kill one of ours, we kill 10 of your leadership group. Just go full assassination happy.
He really fricked up not being firm on what we expect as a military from this second on.

And all reports from the intelligence community say they told him it would collapse quickly.
Source? The NYT reported that the intelligence reports from the Pentagon indicated a that it would take “18 months”.

The Pentagon had issued dire warnings to Mr. Biden even before he took office about the potential for the Taliban to overrun the Afghan army, but intelligence estimates, now shown to have badly missed the mark, assessed it might happen in 18 months, not weeks

Wait until the videos of them raping and torturing those who were abandoned start being published!

some point though, they need to take control over their own country.
We cant stay there and hold their hands forever.
The taliban just walked through the country which tells me they were never going to stand on their own.
Of course. But it is possible, even expected, that you evacuate everyone before you turn it over to the Afghan army.

There are a shitload of links ITT.
ABC (part of the DNC propaganda machine) even turned on him and admitted it was common knowledge what would occur.

CNN isn’t really being too nice to joe Biden. I’m surprised.

Yeah I've been harping on that for a while. I posted the initial story somewhere. It probably got lost in the shuffle.
ETA: Their initial arrival was stated as, "Around the end of the week."

Regardless of the outcome I wouldn't cry over that. Maybe some late night hosts as well.

It has been posted multiple times in this thread. ABC was one of the first to report it when the break from the talking points started yesterday.

He did, it was just a terrible answer.
"Afghanis didn't want to leave" and they were assured by Ghani and Co. that they would have plenty of time to get everyone out.

You know the one interesting thing to think about....
The US decided to pull out but if our Allies were truly strong. Why didn't they stay? UK/Aussies/Germany/France, etc? They couldn't provide any Air Support?
Ya, Diplomacy also failed.

Wait. They're AIRBORNE. They don't need to land at an airport to land at the airport.
