I can’t get rid of this picture in my head of innocent non-Afghans being executed right there on the tarmac at the airport…. and the ensuing uproar.

The US-held staging area side of the airport is behind US-troop guarded barbed wire.

Richard Engel is still giving live reports inside Kabul though. He has some balls.

But the tarmac has been breached.

30 years ago I was in the Middle East. I was 19 years old and even I recognized that a Democratic form of government wouldn’t work over in that neck of the woods. Anyone that has spent any time over there will tell you the same thing.

This is no surprise and should have been accounted for. This is a military, foreign policy and humanitarian disaster and it all falls solely on the Biden administration.

It’s like moving from a home and you didn’t pack when the truck shows up. No one doubts you need to move but how it was handled is a disaster.

Are we sure Biden is still alive? I simply can't imagine the reasoning behind the entire world watching this unfold over the last three days and not even having a statement let alone a prepared speech for the country.

I’m very conservative and voted for Trump twice, but this doesn’t fall solely on Biden. It falls on Bush, Obama, Trump, and Biden. Wouldn’t hurt for Biden to at least be present though.

Talked to a few guys who did some time over there and this was basically what they said. They knew the government would never work but not go up in flames likes this.

Botching the withdrawal is on Biden’s watch.

oh FFS, Biden is the Commander in Chief. He has had more than ample time to handle this and all signs point to him talking out of his arse.

Correct, although Biden pledged to undo Trump's efforts in a matter of days, so any claim that he couldn't change the course of the Afghanistan withdrawal is hollow.

This debacle is on him, but yes, it was always going to be ugly. This ugly? Seems unlikely.

No, it falls on every administration involved in the invasion and occupation since 2001. Withdrawal was the right call, and Biden should be credited with that. The execution of the withdrawal, however, is a total disaster, and that falls solely on him.

As soon as we learned that the Taliban was walking over the Afghan Army... YES

Very dumb idea.

We need an audit of where all this money that was supposed to be propping up the Afghan army went.

It's completely on Biden. He's been CIC since January which is plenty of time to come up with some kind of a plan for a withdrawal yet its obvious he has absolutely none at all. Combine that with the total silence from his administration during this and it's grounds for impeachment

I already said they're on vacation and that they'd circle back around in a couple weeks when they get back.

What more do you want? They're on vacation.

Good to know how you feel about Democrats.
thinking that wishing an administration fricks up and embarrasses a country is stupid and dumb? That has nothing to do with political party but being a decent American. It’s amazing how people (deservedly so) griped about democrats doing it in the last administration and then turn around and do the same shite. Just to “prove a point”.

By the looks of it it doesn’t matter what anyone wishes for anyway, dementia is gonna do his damndest to make a shite show out of this.
