Independents would vote for Cornyn, it would still be a tough race but paxtons negatives always have been so bad with Independents
I see people on this board referring to paxton is a MAG candidate okay that's fine
and that may get you the Republican votes
again as I've tried to point out and I guess y'all don't believe me
but not everyone in the state of Texas is either a Republican or an idiot Democrat there are Independents and they vote
But the Statewide Republican ticket a lot of the things that lieutenant governor abnormally small genitalia
did this last session were hurting us with independent voters but Cornyn a senator had nothing to do with those so they wouldn't have held that against him
paxton is AG ,that's state it's held against him
And again that's not my personal reasoning that's my professional opinion

quote:LIke Hershel Walker? At some point, you have to realize winning the primary is a different skill than winning the general election. The bigger the election (statewide->national) the bigger the differential.
That’s the delusion. Somehow Paxton, the guy who beat Cornyn, can’t win but Cornyn would’ve.
quote:Trump didn't support Paxton until it was obvious he was going to beat Cornyn. I have no hesitation being certain Trump would have endorsed Cornyn had he been the presumptive winner.
because the guy who won you didn’t support because maga did

Shows you the hypocrisy of blaming Trump for voters not showing up when Cornyn and Hunt were arguing over who was more MAGA.
You can’t make this shite up.

Then why did Cornyn try to out MAGA Hunt?
This shite is hilarious.

If you remove the polarization of politics from this election, Talarico is a much better overall candidate than Paxton. Regardless of political affiliation.

A Reuters/Ipsos poll in September 2018 showed Democrat Beto O'Rourke leading Republican incumbent Ted Cruz 47% to 45% among likely voters
I'm aware of that outlier poll during the campaign, which is why I said LEGIT. That one was no where close.
Even the Texas Tribune article that announced that poll's "result" also acknowledged in the very next paragraph that Quinnipiac had Cruz +9.
quote:
Forty-seven percent of likely voters told Reuters they would vote for O’Rourke, while 45 percent said they would cast their ballot for Cruz. Three percent said they would vote for “Other,” and 5 percent said “None.” Ipsos online polls do not have margins of error; instead, the poll’s precision is measured using a “credibility interval.” This poll’s credibility interval was +/-3.5 percentage points among likely voters.
A Quinnipiac poll released Tuesday put Cruz 9 percentage points ahead of O’Rourke among likely voters. That poll was based on phone interviews, while the Ipsos poll used an online survey.

you need to factor in that polling has become far more questionable since 2018
I do agree there. Back in 2018, I was more willing to answer an unknown call on my cell during election season to give input. Fast forward to 2026...I'm not answering any unrecognized number unless I think it's a high probability of being work related. So polsters don't get responses from me anymore.

That's stupid as shite. You would rather have Talarico in office? You are an idiot.

It’s unbelievable that a liberal Democrat could win in a Texas statewide election. The anti-beef aspect should be reason enough……

Even if Paxton somehow wins, it’s still ridiculous. Texas should be a safe seat and yet it’s going to exhaust a bunch of money and resources that should be directed elsewhere to competitive states.
Agreed, but here we are. The solution for the MAGA RINO's or candidates who were installed by the MAGA RINO's - Vivek, Donalds, Paxton, etc. is to bite the bullet and vote for them. Then, if they win, immediately primary their arses with conservatives who aren't awful candidates. Hit them from the right, and get them to defend their MAGA RINO beliefs and endorsers.

The problem is traditional GOPE/Bush wing/Romeny moderates not supporting Paxton.
If Paxton loses, he has no one to blame but himself. If you're going to take out an incumbent, you need to be able to unite the party and run a good campaign. Paxton hasn't done any of those things.
A lot of blame should also go to the MAGA RINO's, including Trump, and primary voters, for getting Paxton in the race to begin with. Of all the people to primary Cornyn it had to be Paxton? Get behind a better candidate to begin with.

If you don’t know who would be worse as a Senator between Paxton and Talerico then you need your head examined lol

I don't think most of you realize what they been doing down in Texas.

Ye ole ye buying in to pad the win to cause lower turnout. How much did they spend for Cornyn to win? Money is no object when they web with the spiders to deceive.

My guess is… Paxton wins by 4 to 5 %…
Posted on 10/2/26 at 11:24 am to Lou Pai
Speaking from the perspective of a person who lives in Texas, I still see Paxton winning. There hasn't been any ground swelling of support for Talafreako and he will still get the 40-45% of the vote. There are a lot of people, like myself, that would have otherwise more than likely sat this one out because I am almost at my breaking point with both political parties, but they chose a complete freak to run on the D ticket and I can't just not vote.
