Exactly! How can the government pick and choose which federal laws states can enforce!! States enforce hundreds if not thousands of federal laws each day across our country. This case is more complicated and stronger than the libs want to admit!

1. Early American Immigration Policies
Americans encouraged relatively free and open immigration during the 18th and early 19th centuries, and rarely
questioned that policy until the late 1800s. After certain states passed immigration laws following the Civil War,
the Supreme Court in 1875 declared regulation of immigration a federal responsibility. Thus, as the number of
immigrants rose in the 1880s and economic conditions in some areas worsened, Congress began to pass
immigration legislation.
The Chinese Exclusion Act of 1882 and Alien Contract Labor laws of 1885 and 1887 prohibited certain laborers
from immigrating to the United States. The general Immigration Act of 1882 levied a head tax of fifty cents on each
immigrant and blocked (or excluded) the entry of idiots, lunatics, convicts, and persons likely to become a public
charge.
These national immigration laws created the need for new federal enforcement authorities. In the 1880s, state
boards or commissions enforced immigration law with direction from U.S. Treasury Department officials. At the
Federal level, U.S. Customs Collectors at each port of entry collected the head tax from immigrants while "Chinese
Inspectors" enforced the Chinese Exclusion Act.

It used to be a joint effect, no reason it still cannot be.

I honestly liked it better when Texas was sending them to liberal cities specifically those that called themselves sanctuaries. Watching those cities deport migrants faster than a speeding bullet was hilarious.

Texas needs to send em to DC.

End govt aid to illegals and start jailing employers who hire them and illegal immigration can be won without spending a shite load of money.

US DOJ immigration courts ultimately hear such cases—they’re where the rubber meets the road.
I’m of the personal opinion this Union of states won’t last long enough for most of these cases to reach federal DOJ courts.

. state governments need to start cracking down on these clowns who keep making excuses about Americans not wanting to work.

That won't happen. The Republican Party won't allow it. The Democrat Party wants that border open for votes and the Republican Party wants it open for cheap labor.

If there was ever off the record bipartisan unity on an issue, it's that frickin' border.

Look, this ruling is a sweet hit of hopium and all that, but the border will never close the way we want it to close and as far as deportations go, Texas will probably have a token few but not much else.

This is the way, just like the constitutional carry laws; states create their own laws to enforce federal laws. We have very solid immigration laws, states enforce/deport as they come across people who are illegal!

Every red state governor should be assisting to expedite...once TX under control, bus from the red states. I bet all the illegals would be up north or out west with quickness.

SFP will be here shortly to tell us why this is bad and his legal understanding is better than anyone who has ever lived.

The opinion of an arrogant trial lawyer who wants to talk down to everyone means nothing to me.

I agree, one thing I ponder with the illegals being bussed to the sanctuary cities and in the event they would naturally move on their own is the congress representation it would bolster for very liberal cities. Hopefully enough would be forced to leave and not homestead to not have that issue.

Did you miss that part where the feds were now giving relief money to those cities? We are paying for them to destroy us.

I actually think he’s a pretty knowledgable poster for the most part, but contrarians are usually annoying.

VOR seems way worse from the rare times I’ve seen him post. And he doesn’t seem to really know anything. He’s just condescending. SFP at least does his homework.

that means texas is out so their olny other land bridge is southern california, which is by mere coincidence, the only secure portion of the border not allowing illegals in by the thousands so california is about to get the full stampede of illegals coming across the boarder while texas is about to cut border crossing down to a few hundered a day

Supreme Court just ruled that TX can deport illegals

So, via precedent, this should mean that every state has the legal right to deport illegals who are unlawfully residing within their borders if they so choose...

Am I correct in that postulation?
