See, now we agree. I never said it should be illegal for everyone. In an earlier post I said I had no problem with its legalization. In fact, I appreciate the state by state legalization process that it's undergoing now. Gives the more cautious states a chance to study legalization's impacts before going all in.

There damn sure are a lot of drug and alcohol apologist in this thread and on this board. Fascinating what drives people in general to separate themselves from either their daily lives or the reality of what or who they have become via drugs / alcohol.
For some of it is youth/peer pressure, some can be attributed to a predisposition to alcohol/drug addiction, (unfortunately those folks don't know until it's too late.) Some can handle drugs/alcohol without much trouble. And for some is pure escapism.

I'm pro-legalization, but you have to really bury your head in the sand to believe that there are no problems associated with drug usage (adderall, ritalin, ambien, xanex, anti depressants, etc) and developing brains.

Sweet tea consumption is tied to diabetes. Should we send SWAT teams into every southern restaurant and arrest and imprison all the dealers?

No, I'm not kidding. I can list some of those if you want. BUT again... the CDC Wonder helps you look it up. They only have every death on file. You know how to use the system? BTW, 300 deaths in 2014 from MJ Poisoning.
Ok, its confirmed you are an idiot.

How dumb are you?
Both of these are mind altering and addictive. It is major reason why so many Americans are obese and have major health issues leading towards death.

Anybody who uses any sort of mind-altering drug/substance just for the sake of altering their mind or mood is a weak individual and should be viewed with suspicion.
Openly advocating for making it easier for them to obtain these substances is the dumbest thing I have ever heard of with the exception of unisex bathroom laws.
And yes - that includes alcohol when used to alter mood or mind. I drink Jack and Coke because it tastes good and is a little 'different' - sort of like why I eat oysters.
If I drank J&C because it made me feel 7 feet tall and smarter than everyone else, I'd drop it like poison - same as I would drop oysters if that was the reason I ate them.
People who use this shite are weak of character and dumb as a stick.

I'm just guessing, but chronic alcoholism probably has just as bad if not worse symptoms over the long term.

You are entitled to your opinion. My opinion is you are a pathetic little old man.

paranoia and other weird effects are mainly caused by chemicals in pesticides and other things used to treat cannabis plants. If you get some good weed that didn't have all kinds of bullshite sprayed on it... you just get high man!

I don't give shite about what people's habits do to themselves. I think insurance companies should withhold coverage for health issues caused by one's habits - unless they declare that habit and have that issue factored into their premiums they pay by actuarial analysis.
A diabetic who stuffs his face with KrispyKremes should be told by the Insurance Company - sorry = you are not insured against those 'risks.' Same as if you are a skydiver and don't declare that fact to your life insurance provider.
I am all for people using common sense and personal responsibility in the conduct of their lives and not look to 'big govt' to save them from themselves.
As for this worship of marijuana - I think you are all stupid as shite for using the crap - anyone who supports making it easier for school kids to get their hands on it are basically evil in their hearts.

And you opinion on this has probably been warped by your self-induced mental degradation.
btw - I am not 'little' nor 'pathetic' - but I am old. And I have the benefit of unclouded experience to guide my opinions while all you have are synthetic snippets of self-indulgent juvenile illusions as your base.
Go smoke some weed - make yourself think you are smart.

I am heavily skeptical about any info published by the American Journal of Psychiatry after that specialty fricked DSM-IV and V up for political reasons.

I think you're stupid. My creator designed me with 2 types of cannabinoid receptors, littered through every organ in my body... and a plant that provides cannabinoids. Or we evolved them, either way it appears we were designed for cannabis consumption in 2017.

Please explain what "getting high" feels like. I am serious. I have never smoked a single 'joint' (or whatever the common term is for marijuana cigarette.)
I really don't know what 'high' means to those who yearn for its experience. All I know is that I THINK it is just some artificial feeling. I have always been suspicious of things that are unreal - preferring truth and common sense at ever turn.
Just what is the 'feeling' that would tempt someone to retreat from reality? I can understand those who choose a morphine like drug to dull physical pain, but why would one want to dull their mentality>??
Serious question.

And OUR creator gave us a wonderful mind = able to make informed decisions about what is best for our own well-being. But much more importantly, the ability to make informed decisions about what is best for the future of mankind - ESPECIALLY our youth.
You are willingly making a decision that endangers the youth, for the benefit of some transient synthetic illusion. Way to go, worship your weed. Watch the world degenerate further. Smoke some more weed so you can shield yourself from your own responibility.
Might as well masturbate in the street while you are at it. Your creator gave you that option too.
