Label trade reciprocity anyway you want. The bottom line is making a deal that is best for America not China or some other foreign nation because multinational corporations on Wall Street need to fatten their profits.

But it's not really "best for Americans". It's best for some Americans at the expense of redistribution from others.

He's trying to build a political base by giving them shite from other Americans, aka Leftism.

So Trump's major selling point is...leftist economics? Socialism?

I mean, what world are you living in? Count the wars MAGA got us into. Let me start: 0.

Which opportunities was he given?

Only one: Syria. And he did engage militarily.

There is a lot of overlap.

Trump loves him some GOPE when it suits him, yes. That's included in OP, though.

Whataboutism was also in OP

I’m just answering your typically dishonest question. It’s simple ; perceived shared vision of our national identity. The same thing it’s been since I first commented on it in 2011. People are philosophically aligned. Or perceive they are philosophically aligned . There isn’t any one policy or body of policies that is bigger than the true affinity his loyalists have for him. That’s his essence.

What did Trump actually get accomplished for the long term in his administration of worth outside of 2 long-term GOPE policies (Judicial nominations and tax cuts, thanks to Mr. Establishment, Mitch McConnell, primarily)?

So you think this is a fair question?

You have explicitly excluded everything you could think of that he has to offer

Is third world sweatshop industry sustainable? Can America subsist indefinitely as a consumer, software and boutique goods economy alone? It will crash and we will have sold away anything to subsist when it does.

Sweatshops are great for emerging nations and a much better economic opportunity than the alternative options.

If it's not then the market will sort it out. The alternative is the government picking winners and losers with protectionist trade policies. Is that what you want? You want DC deciding which industries they want to protect?

We saw what Trump policy accomplished, and that with the Deep State/RINOs stabbing him in the back at every chance. It is essentially an "America First" God-given Rights principle, as opposed to the Egalitarian Global/Collectivist narrative.

Many of us - Christians at the fore - recognize and fear the coming and "engineered collapse" (Cloward-Piven/Alinsky) of the USD, via rampant spending. The "Great Reset" is no a conspiracy theory, it is a solid political strategy designed to "fundamentally change" our National Sovereignty independence and make it subservient to the WEF's version. Said Version being to move the World economic model from that of "Consumption and Production" to "Caring and Sharing".

IMO, as a professing Christian (albeit not a top-tier practitioner one), I don't see how we can resist this narrative, given the mandate of Jesus re His Gospel of embracing and caring for "poorest amongst you".

I have long thought that given "a chain is only as strong as it's weakest link", the MO for a successful and prosperous society comes from the top down. Which is exactly what the Transnational Progressives are intending. Our Founders knew that God-given Freedom via our Constitution/Bill of Rights would only work for "a moral and religious" (self-policing) people. I.e., a Spiritual-based people. Even the best of our religious and political 'leaders' are corrupted by their own egoic instincts; so it is not illogical that the "weak links" go to hell as well.

This whole thing is Spiritual, assuming we exist in a Spiritual Universe. Fix the Spirit and the Flesh will prosper. Though I suspect that the "fix" will not come from Humanitie's best intentions or actions, but due to the influence of Evil, said 'fix' will come from a prophesied intervention "but for the elect's sake" (the Elect being people who worship true Love), by Jesus Christ, the appointed Spiritual 'Savior' of Humanity.

Looking like this generation will be the one who finds out. It's coming. Sooner than many believe.

I'll give him these.

quote:

Non-intervention during Trump's admin was mostly due to opportunity.

I don't think this is fair. I give him this as well.

He resigned the Patriot Act. Reauthorized FISA. Locked the country down during COVID. Used Fed money to deliver the vaccines. Spent us into oblivion with his COVID bailouts and crushed small businesses. Couple all of that with his off putting personality and I don't understand how any rational person sees him getting reelected. If the suburban housewife didn't vote for him last time over the 'mean tweets', what makes you think she's voting for him this time? She's not and he'll lose to Potato again.

dishonest question

How is this dishonest?

Because it makes people have to think and not just regurgitate NPC talking points they have been given?

quote:

. People are philosophically aligned. Or perceive they are philosophically aligned .

The 2nd is true.

A major point of this thread is to specifically define that "philosophical alignment" and it's been very hard on those projecting that very self-identification. I can put is more simply, for the JJs and Fat Bastards...if you see yourself as part of a group with beliefs, but you can't define either, then what are you and, more importantly, what is that perceived association, really?
