I haven't seen you provide any examples. So again, what is your message?

So free speech isn't free if it costs you your job? Thanks for making my point ... The point, since it evades you, was to protect people from losing jobs, property, or rights based on speech. If you want censorship, I sure China would love to have you.

What has he done to earn the benefit of the doubt? His past would suggest he WASN'T misquoted, if anything.

White Supremacist isn't a racist term?

Really?

Care to talk the rest of us through your position on that?

I like the fact that he's not backing down to all the anti-white racist.

Sure. It isn't a racist term. It is a label for segment of white people and not grouping all white people. Saying white people are supremacists or white people are superior would be racist.

He said in an interview in October that he didn't think the term white nationalist was a derogatory term a year or two ago, but it's become one due to leftists.

A few months later he basically says the same thing, and now he's backtracking?

I don't really buy it.

The term is descriptive of racists, period. White supremacy is a racist concept. There is simply no way around that.

Just saying white supremacists is not racist. Talking about the label is not racist.

Saying something in support of white supremacist beliefs would be racist most likely.

You can't just convolute labels and concepts. The English language doesn't work that way just because your feelings wish it were so.

Questioning "white nationalist" is slightly more tenable than his apparent query as to why white supremacy would be perceived as a racist term. White nationalist could pivot on the "nation" referenced.

IOW, I might be a nationalist in terms of the United States as a nation. If I'm white, then one could label me a white nationalist. If I am a tall male, then one could label me a tall male nationalist. Etc.

When people use the term White Nationalist as a racist descriptor though, the "nation" referenced is the "Aryan Nation". So KKK POS's often call themselves Aryan Nationalists or White Nationalists, and are called that by others

Unless I'm misunderstanding the situation, they are trying to knock him out of some government subcommittees and such correct? If so, I think you can make the argument the government is literally punishing him for his speech.

Sure, but you'd hope a sitting congressman would understand the far more common usage of the term as being derogatory.

Ultimately I think King was trying to be clever with the literal interpretation of the words and adjectives, but he flew too close to the sun, and was rightfully called out on it.

The fact that the left lets members run amok with similar BS is of no consequence to me.

Oh, Good Lord yes. I mean this is a level of stupid akin to Guam-Tipping-Over or rape victims shutting down their reproductive systems if they did not enjoy the act.

He is asking how did "Western Civilization" get roped in with these other terms as being racist and how did those terms become a part of our political atmosphere as labels for mainstream politicians. It's poorly worded, though.

I literally assumed it was fake news when all this was talked about before. (I didn't have time to dig in to the story)

And sure enough, it was fake news.

I do not know if Kathy King expressed an opinion on the Guam issue, but he was on record multiple times in support of team Akin
