Zelensky has been rubbing it in Trump’s face over the refineries. Not smart.

If we want to get technical about it, Vlad was the one who broke Trump's fictitious "energy ceasfire agreement" the other day. But does it count if you break a deal that never existed?

If Starlink is being used in a manner to support invading armies in Europe, it should be banned.

No. That is if Starlink is restricting access because of the perceived intransigence of Ukraine in moving towards settlement. European countries don't like Elon Musk anyway. Probably jealous of anyone who can build that empire.
If Russia has the technology to jam Starlink, that is a different problem.

As I said, the Ukrainians themselves answered your question when they said this is a SpaceX imposed restriction.

Has Zelensky gone after the Russian LNG facilities? No, because the EU countries are heavily reliant on Russian LNG. The whole thing is madness with the Europeans funding both sides

Check out Astrakhan, Orenburg, Novy Urengoy and Ust-Lufa gas processing plants.

But really doesn't have much to do with the subject of the thread.

Everything in the post is fundamentally incorrect. Ukraine has attacked LNG facilities; it has been fewer and more recent due to how deep the strikes have to be.

Ukraine is not trying to "frick over" the US with their strikes on diesel production, or at least it is a 3rd- or 4th-order effect. Armies are very diesel-dependent. Affecting gasoline production works to some extent down the line, as does impacting LNG production, but reducing diesel production has a direct impact on the front lines. Ukraine is attacking Russian diesel in order to make their armies less combat-effective; it is as simple as that. The 2nd, 3rd, and etc order effects are just serendipitous.

Apparently it’s been restored per that Federov guy who is apparently the former Defense Minister.

Seems like it was being throttled earlier, not completely stopped.

Starlink Access Restricted in Ukraine
It doesn't work in an underground bunker.

Hell, I have one at the farm and I have "partial obstruction" dues to trees but even with obstructions it's way better and faster than Hughes Net.

I'm surprised he was allowing them to use X for military applications to start with.

That would make starlink a legitimate military target for Russia, at least in that area.

That's worse than dial up 30 years ago. Doesn't even make sense, sort of like the war.

So Trump is “protecting the world interests” now? Does that make him a dreaded “globalist”?

In what universe is it in the world’s interest to side with a military invader in Europe? We just passed a law in which the USA will sanction anyone who purchases energy products from Russia. So who is the first country to violate the sanction promise? Trump!

Get your head out of your arse. Trump is aiding Americas enemies. Russia is aiding Iran in killing Americans and destroying our military bases. Trump should be removed from office and jailed.

Ah, that makes sense. It's not actually starlink it's another thing they sell to the government.

A day after Zelensky accused the US of cutting “intelligence support” and not providing early warning against Russia’s ballistic missile strikes on Kiev, pandemonium has ensued in Ukraine.

Now the country’s leadership has accused the US of cutting its Starlink support as well.

It all began with a post by prominent Ukrainian figure Serhii Sternenko who detailed how Starlink terminals in Ukraine were throttled when they passed a certain speed restriction:

quote:

As can be seen, he accuses Elon Musk’s SpaceX of meddling, which began a firestorm of hate directed toward Musk from the Ukrainian-aligned side of social media.

Musk immediately responded with a clarification: the military version of Starlink is infact operated by the US DOD under the name Starshield and is not controlled by Musk or SpaceX. You can see him responding directly to the star ex-Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov himself—note that Fedorov claims connectivity was already being restored at the time:

quote:

First, it should be mentioned that despite Fedorov’s claims of restoration, there were other counter-claims that his announcement was premature and service was in fact still widely failing.

Several Ukrainian brigades had also posted of their issues. Here the 7th Airborne Assault Corps of the AFU:

quote:

In light of the above, today WaPo dropped the bombshell that the US has in fact been threatening key Ukrainian personnel with an intelligence cut-off should Zelensky continue to hit Russian oil sites:

quote:

There continue to be various Ukrainian claims that Starlink has not been fully restored as claimed by Fedorov and others:
