Gov. Mike Parson has said he would pardon the McCloskeys should they be convicted.

St. Louis Circuit Attorney Kimberly Gardner originally issued charges against them for unlawful use of a weapon – a felony.

Unless the pardon totally erases the conviction, he still can’t buy a firearm. Unless the legal baws here know otherwise.

bullshite.

Would love to know the demographics of the grand jury that rendered this verdict

They live in St. Louis city. They’re 95% trash. If they weren’t, they wouldn’t live in the city.

It's like living here in North Fulton Co (Atlanta), and sitting in the jury pool in South Fulton. You quickly realize you are not amongst your peers. Make sure you commit crimes in a less gerrymandered location.

The wife did have horrible trigger discipline which is very serious. However, it is not and/or should not be a crime. After all this is the USA and the last time I checked (43 seconds ago), the right to keep and bear shall not be infringed was still the law of the land.

As they say - you can indict a ham sandwich.

Will be interesting to see this trial. If they somehow are convicted, expect exodus of democratic areas to accelerate.

No one will live there if you can’t defend yourself from a mob.

Wife and looked at a nice place in Lafayette Sq. STL after her firm opened a place downtown stl ( mrs is from STL) but crime was a major reason we didn't and why her family has moved out

My God you people are stupid.

It is beyond words to describe how stupid you are.

McCloskey's indicted for protecting their home and it didn't take 3.5 years. Remind me when it was said with baited breath by the in the knows that Podesta was getting indicted.

Why do only non democrats go to jail in the big scheme of things?

Why isn't BLM & ANTIFA denounced by dems and made domestic terrorists? Why wasn't Wray fired the second he said ANTIFA & BLM aren't bad?

Has any of the protesters been indicted for vandalism and trespassing?

I’m serious. Put yourself in the protesters shoes. The McCloskeys are waving a gun at you. Would you go up there and find out if it works? If it was a prop how would you know?

every gun should be assumed ready to fire if it's displayed in anger. how would the protesters there that day know that it was inoperable if it was?

Because Missouri criminal code makes whether not not it was operable a requisite factor to carry the charge. So to answer your question, it doesn’t matter how the criminals felt when the McClosky’s were trying to defend themselves

Of course the most important question that no one has asked: will they be charged with destruction of property for destroying their own gate?

Can’t really do that. I’m not a criminal trespasser.

This only encourages me to act instead of simply posturing. Then I can argue I legitimately thought my life was in imminent danger.

I would never be in their shoes as I never destroy and then encroach on other people’s property.

They were trespassing and threatening violence to the homeowners.

It's almost like you are ignoring the already criminal act of trespassing and criminal damage to private property in order to blame citizen's right to defend their life AND property.

Remember, only one side gets presented to the Grand Jury. I lived outside of St Louis for a while ....The population of the jury pool truly is represented in the gene pool on the streets of St Louis.

The McClosky situation is the most egregious example of Americans’ most basic rights being under assault. If you can’t protect yourself and your family, while on your own property, from a mob of people, we are done as a country.

quote:

the vice president [Joe Biden] said that he had advised his wife, Jill, to fire a shotgun in the air from their Delaware home's porch if she was concerned for her safety. "I said, 'Jill, if there's ever a problem, just walk out on the balcony here, walk out and put that double-barrel shotgun and fire two blasts outside the house,'" Biden said.
