She needs to sue the City for all damages and lawyer fees. In Texas, there is a minimum of 3 years for a squatter to claim residency.

Not sure if Texas is like Louisiana but here, if you come home to find an intruder has gained entry to you home and feel you life is in danger, you have a right to defenses yourself by necessary means up and including deadly force. As long as said intruder is physically in your home at the time you administer corrective action.( I.E. no chasing him out of you home and correcting him out in the street or front lawn. )

Agree, as in I return to my house and see an intruder and shoot them. Texas has enough gun laws to back the homeowner up. So I guess you don't call cops for squatters, you call the coroner to come pick up someone.
