It would be tragic. But it would be a strong sign of what the GOP actually looks like. It’s what we’ve said all along.

The GOP HOUSE had an opportunity to select a speaker that was conservative. It couldn’t get it done.

Ithis confirms the uniparty and justifies every attempt to blow up the party.

Or maybe the conference is a coalition of multiple wings with the party, and currently has a razor thin majority to get a Speaker elected amid a divided government. Maybe that's the political reality of the situation, and being a fricking clown with no plan like Gaetz isn't a viable strategy to advance a more conservative agenda.

But after this failure, it's always easy for your emotion-over-logic peabrain to go with the empty and meaningless "hur dur, blow it up!" line and keep taking Ls.

Emmer is legit the worst choice they could make. It's unbelievable.

I'll be disappointed if other conservative members fold

If I'm the Democrats, I throw enough votes for Emmer to get him elected. He's their best option.

It appears so, but we already knew this.

Can you imagine the dems picking a moderate person to be speaker?

Out of these seven people the republicans think such and such is the best option. So that’s that the democrats are doing…….
Would never happen. Which is why trump was right and it all has to be torn down and rebuilt

Right now here’s hoping that Scalise and his GOPe ways - manages to bully the milquetoasts into voting Johnson.

Johnson didn’t take a position in his race v Jordan- but Johnson has made all right votes Re: spending- including Ukraine.

He has always been the best option, which is why the GOP will frick it up

What are you talking about.

We are down to Mike Johnson and Emmer. Mike Johnson isn’t connected with Gaetz. Republicans like you prefer a “Republican” like Emmer over one like Johnson or Jordan.

It’s that simple.

It will result in more open borders, more uncontrolled spending, no real opposition to the Democrat agenda.

Correct.

That’s not what the GOPe wants. And it’s why those people need to be eradicated from the party.

He is for getting rid of the electoral college and voted for gay marriage. He's basically a democrat. So, Gaetz and the 8 got played by the DEMS and now they are reaping their rewards.

You'll have to wait for the public vote in the house, because these cowards had to select him in secret in fear of both their constituents as well as running afoul of their total lobby overlords.

He’s worse than McCarthy.

I kind of want him to win just for the laughs.

It doesn't really matter because they will never elect a speaker that doesn't want a CR.

This is why people should be corrected when they conflate republicans and conservatives. Nothing conservative about the republican party, or the overwhelming majority of its elected legislators. You have to vote for them, because they are marginally more conservative than most marxist democrats, but the only thing conservative about them is their rhetoric at the convention.

yeah, it's Gaetz's fault, and not the hundreds of GOP that voted to nominate Emmer?
