Life starts at conception.

Life becomes viable at the earliest survived delivery date.

Babies begin to feel pain in the first trimester.

A recreational abortion at that point is cruel.

Ask the pro-choice people this: IF you were convinced human life begins at conception, would it change your stance?
None at all.

Mere “life” is a silly and arbitrary criteria for vesting legal rights upon an organism.

I believe at conception because at that moment everything about that person is determined.
From eye color, to height, to long term health.

Also, Jeremiah told us that God knew us before we were in ours mothers womb.

They’re not pro choice they’re pro abortion. Big distinction, stop letting fascist steal and weaponize language.

I’ve listened to some pro abortion people claim that a developing child is not human life until it’s outside the womb and has experienced sufficient life experience to be self aware.
Philosophically, it is not a completely unreasonable argument.

From the perspective of public policy, it is monumentally stupid.

Totally agree! They had choice when they had unprotected sex.

They don’t want to take personal responsibility for their choices!

“At conception” is the logical, scientific, and moral (Biblical) response to the question.

Conception, which is why I don't see how birth control is compatible with the current stance of most pro lifers.

How can someone be in favor of thinning the uterine wall to make it incompatible with life while still claiming life begins at conception?

Do you need some assistance reaching those straws at which you are grasping?

You may see them as straws, I may see your response as ducking the question, but that's the stance of the Catholic Church and has been for some time.

If life begins at conception why is killing it at a few minutes old any different than weeks or months later?

Preventing the original formation of life is not the same thing as destroying it once it has come into existence. My decision not to raise chickens in my back yard is not the same thing as me ringing the neck of a chicken and then dropping it in a deep fryer. The issue is do we treat a gestational human embryo, unwanted by the host mother, the same as we do the chicken that winds up in our KFC drive thru bag?

Except that current birth control makes the womb unsuitable for life, after conception. The embryo typically falls out.

The only logical, scientific point of when life begins is the moment of conception.

Prior to that moment, sperm is just sperm and remains so, and ovaries remain ovaries until fertilized by the sperm.

As soon as that happens, the doubling of cells begins.

What is fascinating to ponder, though, is how cells know to become part of the brain, skin, muscles, kidneys and so on.
