Damn, you have to have a bad taxation to think New York is better than California. Maybe New York Sate apart from NYC is better but probably not much.

Imagine how much better the country would be without its most physically outstanding state being run by morons.

That’s the problem, they will never run out of money.
They have a hundred years of infrastructure built to support the tech industry that will be nearly impossible to replicate, much less compete with it and take any meaningful chunks from it.
Even with that out of the equation, they have largest and closest shipping capacity to the largest manufacturing centers in the world (China, SE Asia, and the growing capacity of Chinese controlled Eastern Africa).

Why aren’t they willing to help the poor and any illegals?
Its not their responsibility.
They expect the tax paying middle class to handle these trivial issues that the uber rich have created by importing their slave labor.

That’s supposed to be done with other people’s money, not theirs.

Not sure going to NY is going to be any better . Both states are racing to see who can collapse first .

“Hey honey, let’s move to Texas and see if we can start a new brand of socialism that actually works over there. Socialism never got a fair shake in the greatest state in America.”

CA - 13%
NY - 7% I think
If you're in a classic rock band and make $100K playing on the road 10 months a year, you save $13K a year just by having a residential address in NV, TX or FL

Did some contract work with the the state of California franchise tax board for a couple of years during covid. The employees that I communicated with were amazed and jealous at the freedom I had to function as a normal person.
Out of professional respect, and my selfish desire to keep the invoices being paid, I quickly stopped sharing any details about how people live in flyover states.
Those people's daily lives were miserable.

You people better watch out. Gavin Newsom came out with a new term last week. It was in an email: "Trump has California Derangement Syndrome!" We could all get cut with a wit that sharp.

People like Spielberg can’t conceive of living anywhere in America except NY and CA. They’ll bounce back and forth between the two rather than explore flyover country.

They will move elsewhere, get taxed less, and vote the same

You don’t have to pay state income taxes in the state you worked in?

They need to pay their fair share.

The interesting thing about socialism is that most who have the means to escape it eventually do so.
