This is not even fit for the checkers-chess analogy.
Russia has a much better relationship with NK than China does. Russia reaching out to NK is a message to the west...This is Putin broadening the footprint that the west will have to deal with if there's war.
It's a smart move on his part. If we didn't have dumbo Biden and his band of idiots, we could defuse this immediately.
It's well past time to begin looking at ways to ease tensions.

What's crazy is that Putin is 70 yrs old.

Make no mistake, Kim absolutely DESPISES Xi. This is just a play by Putin to secure artillery shells. I'm sure those 40 year old Nork shells are all stable and fully functional. The only concern here is Russia trading long-range missiles to the Norks in exchange for the shells. Kim's going to FAFO and Japan is going to resurrect Hideki Tojo.
