It is my money. It is not a "handout."

You’d be an idiot not to.

Not eligible, but would take it it it was offered to me, because I would consider it a rare break by a government that takes a huge swath of our income but makes us ineligible for most tax breaks by virtue of having modest success.

I wouldn't vote for it even if I was going to get it, however.

If this goes through, TAKE THE MONEY.

They will allocate the money, and any unused money will probably be wasted on some other nonsense, such as a study on the sex habits of Aggies.

As a tax-paying citizen,

As am I but I didn't co sign on anyone's student loan and my tax dollars (which are going to go up) shouldn't pay for POS's who don't honor the agreements that make with regards to borrowing money.

Short of a natural disaster, If you get daddy Gubment to pay off your debt you're a POS because ultimately daddy Gubment takes that money from people who are responsible to cover you irresponsible people.

And there is nothing comical about you government trust fund babies.

So no changes to tax law ever? If they change the tax law to your benefit you won't take advantage of that?

I got a special alert on my phone when the PB is talking about student loans. It’s been a busy couple of days

Stop paying the loan and terms YOU signed off on ASAP. Why? Because instead we will merely bill Joe Schmoe, whose additional taxes will now cover YOUR negligence and irresponsibility...BECAUSE we can play Robin Hood on YOUR behalf. MERRY CHRISTMAS!"

Done change the subject.

If you take out a loan or your child takes out a loan and you co-sign.

You are responsible for it and if you can't pay for it you should be the one to suffer the consequences. Government has no business bailing out poor decision making but they do it because they know the simpleton will vote for them so then can continue being irresponsible.

What is it about the term "responsibility" do you not understand?
