"Taking it back" FROM WHOM? Who gets caught holding the bag?

That's right -- *now* it's theft from TAXPAYERS.

Nice rationale.

I think this sounds a lot like an officer coming to your home saying I'm just doing my job while he takes your guns.

I'm just saying this is the mindset of those cops

It's a moral thing brother. Either you have them or you don't. But at the end you are part of the theft from my family.

Sure hope you take zero deductions on your taxes and have never cashed any kind of stimulus or relief checks.

Part of any financial planning at this point has to be how to take advantage of government handouts. So yes theoretically I would but I am not eligible.

I'm the taxpayer bro. The money is literally mine. They stole it from me and are offering some of it back.

Again, I hate it. I vote against it.

Didn't Joe extend the 'pause' through December 2022?

So nothing would happen until that expires anyway.

It looks like this is all a con to get past the election.

I'm strongly against it but I've been paying my student loan without fail, including during the last 2.5 years, and actually pay taxes each year so I will absolutely take it to get some benefit from my taxes.

Hey -- rationalize and go ahead and take the money. It's legal. BUT still wrong. That money is just MORE money *I* and other taxpayers must give YOU because you're an idiot.

Did you voluntarily take out a School Loan? Agree to the terms?

THAT is on you, my friend.

There are plenty of ways to rationalize this issue. Some sound justifiable.

But like it or not, this issue is a matter of integrity, honesty, and honor.

I did and paid it back. I also paid cash when my kid decided to go. With that said, if the gov't is going to give me back part of what they stole from me at the point of a gun, then I'm going to take it back.

And then vote to get the federal gov't out of the education business at all levels.

This is true in our once great nation. Now, just take the money, because it's already gone.

Weak.

So now you've raised the stakes with your BS rationalization: "Taking FREE money is already MY money ANYWAY!", the mismanagement of the loan, and expecting an answer to your dopey question.

Nobody's stopping you. But know this -- you'll be no different than any welfare queen, illegals on the dole, or anyone else with a free cash grab -- because they CAN.

Atta boy!

All I see is more of you ignoring your own hypocrisy. And my loans are 95% paid off, so this doesn't really benefit me at all. At least we all know you ave no student debt, Mr "Earth is flat"

I guess your degree didn't teach you how to understand what you're being asked

You made an extreme generalization while bragging about your great money management skills. I'm asking you to defend that generalization.
