Many people are saying the one-month "laundry room fire" repair is a cover story.
Yet somehow the thousands of sailors on board have managed to keep the secret. Not even one of the twerker sailors leaking it.
Time is the enemy of conspiracy. If the vessel was limping to port with holes in it from air strikes, even if the crew were locked in without internet and managed to keep it secret for a week, the folks at port with their cellphones would get the video, just like the post above shows.
I was skeptical about the laundry room fire report. While deployed in a combat zone with missiles and drones flying all over the place, flaming laundry is the last thing I would expect to send an aircraft carrier to port for repairs. But as the vessel comes in, there are no visible holes or blast marks. Maybe it was the laundry room. Seems more plausible now.

We have 15 of those awac planes and 15 more that were just mothballed. And a new version on the way.
It's going to be a sad end to an era for me. I grew up always seeing the AWAC circling in the sky out of TAFB in Midwest City. But its old tech and reaching relative obsolescence, I get it.

The Cole took over a year
Also the Yorktown benefitted from a war economy heavily geared towards military industry.

Went through the entire thread. No other sources. I haven’t seen anything else today so far from any source. I doubt what’s presented here.

To be sure, it was a good hit. But, just a drop in the bucket.

She also wasn't anywhere near fully repaired in those three days, just patched enough for flight ops and to move at battle speed. They went to sea with a shite ton of workers aboard, too.

Weren't those six killed when a missile hit a trailer they were in?

Someone that I trust said they hit 12 of our 13 bases and perhaps also the USS Ford.
Just because you’ve had his penis in your mouth is no justification to trust him.

the USAF will look at that as a minor inconvenience
umm We only have like 16 E-3 Sentrys....And they don't make them anymore. Losing one is a bit more than a "minor inconvenience"

Ya, because they're being decommed.

They hit us so hard that we are all now in heaven playing on TD together in the Lord's presence

Correct, but there is no clear timeline for its replacement. So as I said, it is a big deal to lose one because we cannot acquire more and we do not have access to a replacement aircraft.

To add some background. My MA buddy and I chatted this AM.
Apparently the Ford has been on deployment for 11 months, and everything in it is breaking. Morale is crazy low. Constant lines for showers and toilets.
Sailors have breaking points
ETA: not justifying it, Just saying this is likely just as much on leadership, as the the sailors that lit the fire. "Let them eat cake" dismissive attitudes can lead to far worse.
All the carriers we have, no reason to deploy more than 6 months, 9 at the latest. And if shite is breaking, and sailors are suffering. . .leadership needs to address it or something bad is going to happen.
$1000 says Master Chiefs and the XO knew something bad was going to happen and had been warning the CO
