I said it’s unsettling to see military with weapons and armored vehicles when you’re just living your every day life. I’m glad you delight in being watched by armed military while you walk down the street. I do not.
I couldn't give 2 fricks less. When the guard was around the Quarter for the Super Bowl it was glorious. I was able to walk around with my 6yr old son, not worry about where I parked or what street we walked down and the place didn't smell like weed.
I wish we'd have them 24/7 in the Quarter because it's really an gem for a family during the day.

This is so pathetic, especially when the other option is to let criminals roam freely attacking people.
How is real risk to your safety NOT unsettling to you, but no risk makes you whimper in the corner like a baby?

Just ask for a police escort when you go to the city, which is probably once or twice a decade anyway.

How do you type this with a straight face? Unless the military is patrolling New Orleans, criminals are roaming freely attacking people. You just claimed that.

This is one measure where I think TOTAL murders (and not per capita) is the more meaningful measure. Per GROK:
Comprehensive data on total murders for the top 25 U.S. cities in 2024 or 2025 is incomplete due to variations in reporting and the FBI’s transition to a new crime reporting system. However, based on available 2023 and partial 2024 data from sources like the FBI, CDC, and municipal reports, I can provide a list of cities with high murder totals, focusing on major urban centers. Since exact 2024–2025 totals for all cities are unavailable, I’ll draw from the most recent reliable figures, primarily 2023, with some 2024 updates where available, and note that rankings may shift with complete data. Cities are listed based on total homicides, not rates, using data from counties or cities as reported.
Chicago, IL - 805 homicides (Cook County, 2023)
Los Angeles, CA - 659 homicides (Los Angeles County, 2023)
Houston, TX - 320 homicides (2024)
Detroit, MI - 203 homicides (2024)
Memphis, TN - 145 homicides (first 8 months of 2024)
Philadelphia, PA - ~100 homicides (first half of 2024, estimated based on 2023 trends)
Baltimore, MD - 94 homicides (2024)
Washington, DC - 69 homicides (first 5 months of 2024)
Oakland, CA - 59 homicides (first 8 months of 2024)
St. Louis, MO - ~50 homicides (2024, estimated based on 2023 data and trends)
Birmingham, AL - ~40 homicides (2024, estimated based on high rates)
New Orleans, LA - ~40 homicides (2024, estimated based on 2023 data)
Kansas City, MO - ~35 homicides (2024, estimated based on 2021 data of 156)
Louisville, KY - ~30 homicides (2024, estimated based on 2021 data of 192)
Albuquerque, NM - ~30 homicides (2024, estimated based on 2021 data of 120)

Yeah. That’s me. Definitely just agree with everything Trump says. :eye roll:
I’m not sure that you’re good at Englishing. I’m not sure even half those posts said what you pretended they said.

What do all have in common?
Posted on 9/2/25 at 10:39 pm to the808bass
I know what they didn’t say. They didn’t say you were concerned at all about anything having to do with the safety or wel-being of black people. That’s a new talking point since the federal government exerted authority and threatened to exert authority over local governments. That caused you to suddenly start caring about black people dying.

Their population is a fraction of Chicago

And you can suck the philosophical dick of muh Federalist principles.
To defend troops in our cities, you have to make federalism itself, the foundation of the Constitution, the villain.
Most on this board aren't ready to make that leap. Or at least honest enough to say it out loud.

Lots of blah blah blah there, hun. Hope it works out for you.

Can we all be honest for a second and call this what it really is?
It’s not about crime. The governor didn’t request this from the president. It’s the opening act of a contrived civil war in which red states send troops to occupy blue states. Total bullshite and the amount of hair on fire in here if the script was flipped would be enormous.

That’s it. We’re going to conquer Chicago for America. You got it figured out, Cletus.

and Seattle are probably safe
Seattle has had protesters blocking off a federal building for over 4 months now. There is a school that is having to seek another location because of the violence and danger. Residents in the are can not sleep because of the all the constant noise. Flash bangs, fire works, tear gas, yelling and screaming.
This has gone on for months and the police will not even go in the area.
I am surprised it isn't mention more here.
