So, 1.295 in 10 Americans speak Spanish? Who the frick comes up with 1 in 10 as any form of valid argument...
In all fairness, that's like 4 times the number of sexually deviant that are considered a protected class.

frick that. That's not what he's there to do.

You're being a fricking idiot. And I'll bet I listen to way more latino music than you.

Stapleton and Lewis are both great. The songs feel real. Can't say that for many country artist now. Stapleton is quickly rising into my ten favorite country artist ever honestly. Not sure who I'd move out.

Hank Jr
Waylon
Cash
Hank 3
Strait
Brooks
Paisley(I know pop..but he is funny as shite and Harlon remake is one of my favorite songs ever)
Keith
Coe
Randy Travis

The ONLY lyrics people know to la bamba are

A LA LA LAAAAA LA BAMBA

A LA LA LAAAAAA LA BAMBA

That’s it...

As to the Macarena...

AYYYYYY MACARENA AYEE!!!

Well, 10s of millions of non-Spanish speaking Americans know the words to it. Ditto the Macarena and La Bamba. Again, it's painfully obvious that being American is a TERRIBLE predictor of knowing or not knowing a song in Spanish.

Why don't you sing every word of these songs and interpretations then?

Certainly 10s of millions of Americans speak Spanish. Their primary language is Spanish.

What is he not there to do? Possibly respond graciously to a fan request? OK, if you say so.

Hey, foxnews is the one who outed him as insulting mexicans. All I said is that his remark was a stupid non sequitur (although doesn't seem much of a stretch to think he meant it as an insult.)

Probably so, since I'm American.

Um, if you would pull your head out your azz and pay attention you would notice that many Conservatives have been trying to tell them just that.

"I'm American therefore I only speak English" is an illogical statement to you?

Yes

That's obviously an illogical statement

That's what this story is all about and why you chose the side you did.

You people should stop beating around the bush with a damn 7 page thread.

He said he's American because he wanted to let everyone know that we speak English in 'Merica dammit!

So the line has been drawn, support him or take up for the noisy Hispanics in the crowd. That's the way everything is now. Pathetic.

Stop pussyfooting around. This kinda shite is old and boring.

Right. That was all I could come up with. I guess, I could throw in La Bamba.

And tens of millions more (if not hundreds of millions) have had more than just passing exposure to Spanish via school and other media.

I would guess that being American actually correlates positively and highly with having some familiarity with Spanish.

It might have been more accurate if he had said "I'm an outlier, in that I'm American, but still don't speak any Spanish."

It's not Staind, it's Aaron Lewis doing his solo career. I like Staind, but I'm not a fan of his country type stuff.

A comment that doesn't follow the logic of the conversation.

How is what he said non-sequitur?

Because speaking Spanish has nothing to do with singing a song in Spanish. Seriously, this isn't that hard.

But even to take it down your path - it does not even come near to necessarily following that since he is American, he doesn't speak Spanish.

BamaRep gonna BamaRep. Typical disingenuous thread title.

"Singer Aaron Lewis walks off stage because crowd will not shut up." Good for Lewis.

The whole Spanish language reference is utterly irrelevant to his decision to end the concert.

As an aside, I wonder what type of "concert" this was. A couple of years ago, I attended an acoustic thing with Cody Canada, where he had a similar problem. It was basically a catered meal, followed by the acoustic set, and one table just would NOT stop talking and listen after dinner. Canada said something off-hand and very politely a couple of times, but they did not seem to get it. Another guy and I went over and explained the matter a bit more explicitly. They shut up, and the rest of the evening was great.
