Shreveport Mayor runoff election

There are some interesting dynamics in the runoff election for Shreveport mayor.
The white Republican has the support of the last three black Democrat mayors. The black Democrat has the support of several local Republican politicians, plus Governor JBE.

I know S. La. has a good number of "black" people like that, but I didn't realize N. La. did.

Outside money from Baton Rouge came pouring in the last week or so and what was a positive race about our issues has turned into a down right mud slinging fest.
Arceneaux, the republican disavowed the attack ads saying he had nothing to do with them. Tarver hasn't said much. Part of me thinks it's all being done by Team Tarver to divide the city and stir up the black vote because they aren't motivated to vote for him.
Sprinkle in a little rain tomorrow to suppress the vote turnout and Arceneaux wins this.

The other black mayors who got in bed with TA are trying to hold on to what they think is power. Tarver will prevail and prove to them who the most powerful black man is in the City of Shreveport.

Didn't say he wasn't..I said he SOUNDS like an idiot. When someone can't paste together a coherent thought during a debate it's a bad look. he literally had to mid train wreck of sentence say, "I'm just gonna stop" and let the moderator move on to the next candidate.
He still has my vote over Tarver
At the end of the day Fuller got crushed and we can all agree that's a win for Shreveport

Maybe, but the driving force is their dislike of Tarver. A lot of African-Americans feel the same way. Tarver is a controversial/divisive individual.

I believe the reason the Black Preachers are against Tarver is as someone mentioned, he is going to stop their gravy train in order to keep a little for himself and put the rest back where it needs to be. What I like about Tarver is the more prosperous and successful Shreveport becomes, the more skimming opportunity for him. He will be able to unite the different groups for his gain which hopefully will be Shreveport's gain also. He also should know that if crime goes down, opportunity for him and the City goes up. We will see. Don't know much about Arceneaux but hopefully he can get get the different groups to work together also.
