I listen to the BBC global news podcast most everyday because..well, I'm a moron i guess. But the number of times they label a politician with "far right" "alt right" "extreme right" is pathetic. Why label any party with anything other than their claimed affiliation? Let the public decide if they are on the fringes of their party. Its all opinion anyway.

For decades, Les Republicains stood around and wrung their hands. They have done nothing of substance for their voters. So their voters have abandoned them. They are close to extinction.
I like to think this is the future of the GOP.
Much like the GOP in this country. Just fall in with the Ds. They can send billions to Ukraine, but no border wall?

I listen to the BBC too, and you’re right.
Notice how they never use terms like extreme left or far left? Those terms are reserved for the right. To them, it’s always just “left” without the adjective.

This is typically done in Parliamentary governments when the ruling party suffers a loss of confidence. It has nothing to do with opposing the will of the people.
The two main reasons for a vote -
1. Majority suffers a no confidence vote
2. Majority feels secure enough to call snap elections and solidify their position.
Even if Macron loses seats by doing this, they can’t call another set until he loses a confidence vote. Which likely requires defections from his own party or coalition.

I have no idea if our young males are leaning right.
Yes. They 100% are. Go to your local gym & see if the young guys there give a rats arse about woke issues.
These young men are products of anti-covid/anti-woke/masculine movement that is currently the cool counter culture. To them 2019 & before was a different/better world than it is now. The economy is kicking their arse & their asses are coming vote R this November.

France seems like the kind of moronic country where their idiotic policies are ripe for total Islamic control. When there’s calls to prayer around the Eiffel Tower, it’s over. Y’all lost.

There is something going on throughout all of what we would consider the western world. I’m not exactly sure what it is or how to describe it but I think it’s something everyone feels. The rubicon has essentially been crossed. Sargon did a really good 10 min video on it I just watched. It feels like it’s young men are done, and they’re about to make that known. Historically that hasnt been a very good thing, hopefully there will be older steady hands at the wheel.
Europeans are realizing that their leaders are colluding to wipe out Europeans in their own countries. Whether they are realizing it in time remains to be seen.

My only guess is he expects it to get much worse. Call a snap election now while you still have a chance of clinging to power and reset the clock.
This is why he called it.
SloPro is correct, in a Parliamentary govt the Prime Minister can call an election when he wants, usually when he has a few good years and wants to extend it six years without having to worry about upcoming elections.
What really pisses me off about Macron, for decades they did not spend their 2% of GDP on defense as NATO dictates, now he is poking the bear expecting the US to have his back.

How long until the solution is “wipe out the leaders”?
Once the leaders are replaced, the “uninvited visitors” can be convinced to go home through various means starting with cutting off handouts for anything other than a trip home.

LePen is basically a commie except when it comes to French nationalism and immigration.
she is by definition a national socialist - meaning she is in favor of policies that provide massive social welfare, but only to legitimate French citizens
apparently in the eyes of EU apologists the makes her “extreme right”

Meh. France may be the only other military in NATO capable of operating independently without US/other NATO members in a conflict.
