The left has created a lawless, no-consequence, society....mainly to allow criminals, mainly minorities, to run free and terrorize law abiders.

This is part of their strategy...push the WHites out of the cities and create huge, blue, voting blocks. Look and see what is happening, PA, GA, IL, MI, etc....

So we expect college Presidents to be co-mayors now? Wtf is this? Name another college where the college President successfully influences law enforcement actions in ghetto locations far away from the campus.

You’re just being hysterical, Karen. Get your shite together.

In MO, seems like Cape and Kirksville would be relatively safe; are there other schools, too?

LSU could be proactive and warn students of the dangers.

And yes...LSU has a huge influence on everything in BR. Especially the mayor.

Ya know it's very sad when Tigers, who are studying abroad this semester, feel safer thousands of miles away from Baton Rouge.

I believe that Tate should be publicly trashing the BRPD and Broome, appeal to the state government for additional law enforcement, publicly support a recall of the mayor, etc.

Does the same apply to the principal of every school and the employer of every business when a student or employee is killed in an unrelated work or school incident that far away from work or school?

What you are suggesting sounds more like a hysterical, dramatic reaction rather than a well reasoned response. You might want to get your estrogen levels checked.

But maybe we can agree that it is long overdue for the mayor and the police chief to start publicly blaming ghetto culture for creating an environment that promotes lawlessness. Blame should also go to liberalism that famously promotes and enables lawless behavior, but I’m not expecting the mayor or police chief to have the intelligence to understand root causes that deeply.

This murder occurred 2-3 miles from LSU campus, near bars and restaurants frequented by college kids and other young adults.

There have been other violent incidents near and on campus, involving the LSU student body.

No. Tate isn’t required to follow them around, nor is he legally responsible for what happened. He, however, is morally responsible here.

He has had several days since this happened to address the situation publicly, and he has not. Sharon Weston Broome is a total idiot and an absolute failure as a mayor. If Tate were a leader of the university actually concerned for the well-being of his students, he’d take their side over Broome’s. But he hasn’t. It’s a missed opportunity that will cost the university and will erode trust in him by the student population, the city he lives in and the institution he allegedly represents.

I lack sufficient words to express my disappointment in LSU over this.

Broome should be recalled and he should be leading the charge.

They have a meeting scheduled presumably to develop a coalition and some other meaningless dressing for their word salad.

7 miles. Let's be accurate here with what are still valid points

I hear you and do not want to quibble - but my understanding that the shooting happened at Park and Government, which as the crow files Id say it’s 3 miles, and I’d consider to be the Garden District neighborhood - where college kids live along with more well established people. I’ve been in those bars and restaurants. I lived in the Garden District as a younger attorney and rode a bike to tailgate at LSU from my house. It’s that close to campus.

This isn’t the “ghetto” far from campus about which the university wouldn’t be aware. It’s a hip area of town where college kids and young adults go.

I hope you don’t send your baby girl to college and someone shoots her 5 times while she’s sitting alone in her car on her way back home from having fun with her friends.

I also really hope for her sake that if something like that ever happens to you, that the members of the university community, including alumni of it take it seriously, and place your pain and the importance of her life over perceived politeness. You know. People like the university president.

Geez Louise. Don’t be such a Karen yourself.

Subject: “Sharon Weston Broome and LSU Pres Tate have blood on their hands…”

The message opens with “Seriously….”

Do any of Wednesday’s detractors in this thread understand satire and hyperbole?

I don’t think the point being made here is that the mayor and president are actually responsible for the senseless murder of the LSU student — the post is meant as a comment about the lack of leadership from the two most high profile community leaders in BR:

Gunfight just reported - roughly same neighborhood

Same neighborhood. Hey Sharon. Maybe this may be a clue. You absolute abject disgrace.

Notably - Hundred Oaks and S Acadian is adjacent to some of most expensive real estate in BR. For those unfamiliar Acadian Thwy runs parallel to LSU Lakes. This is close to TJ ribs.

You’ve probably sat in traffic there on college Gameday. But sure; the university shouldn’t be at all concerned about fricking gunslingers opening fire on each other in broad daylight or anything.

BATON ROUGE - One person was injured after two people reportedly got into a shootout while driving down Hundred Oaks Avenue late Sunday morning.

The Baton Rouge Police Department said two subjects in vehicles exchanged gunfire while driving on Hundred Oaks Avenue just off South Acadian Thruway.

One person arrived at a hospital with an apparent gunshot wound from the altercation, according to police. Their injuries are non-life-threatening.

No more information was immediately available.

This will be the turning point for Broome and Paul. Things like this don't happen on Hundred Oaks, and the folks who live in this area are the one's who bankrolled and got Broome elected and are backing the anti-St. George movement. These folks will give lip service to hood rats killing each other, but when things like this happen on the idyllic Hundred Oaks heads are fixing to roll.

I wish I could up vote you more.

One of my daughters went to LSU and got her law degree there. I was so proud. If this had happened to her God forgive me for what I would do.

Tate'paper should be published here. It's time for a discussion about the man.

Do you and Wednesday understand satire? Blaming non-players is not satire. It’s stupid. Or it’s mental illness.

You may be fine with this kind of shite happening where you went to school and where you made a home- I am not. And there is no language too hyperbolic for how pissed off I am.

Leave Tate out.

This is on Broome and Paul and the many inept judges…and for all we know these judges, even in a mid-sized/small city like BR, are funded by Soros-like ilk.

She is right. He should be screaming louder than anyone else! She was under his wing and was basically assassinated in a brutal way and he has not said a fricking word.

Wednesday is correct. Blood is on his hands now because of his lack of leadership and apparent caring.

He will have a press conference with other Dims to explain why it is not their fault. But give them a few days to get their story straight.
