Does anyone actually think Trump will just allow those guys to remain in power? Get a grip. He’s not quitting until the job is complete.

Probably gong to be facing a very long insurgent backlash unfortunately.

If you want it, fight for it though. That’s not our battle.

“ I mean It seems like we need some people on the ground arming some folks and directing close air support”(quote RCT).

Private Contractors/Mercenaries with extraordinary skills to lead and arms for the Iranian people. With C-130s and A-10s at their beckon and call. The degree and application of justice for decades of persecution must be left to those that were harmed. The Iranian people must take hold and decide their future.

Another couple of weeks identifying and isolating the IRGC and the people can have it. If China wants that oil they will have to get in line.

China is not going to have to get in line. They are 100% going to pump a crap ton of capital and military hardware into the country and economically colonize it. If we pull out with the current regime in place, it will massively play into China’s geopolitical hands.

If there are enough of them that want that.

Don't underestimate their "this is a family squabble" attitude; it's pervasive in those cultures. We don't want to be the bystander that interrupts a wife beating only to have the wife try to scratch his eyes out for hurting her man. That's a real risk.

The Problem is I don't think China knows how to protect Iran from what just happened to them.

I doubt they and the russians together could put together an air defense to counter that.

Still, we cant leave as long as the Gulf States are being attacked.
And its vertually impossible to stop every last missle or drone attack.

You have to completely wipe out this regime or it was a wasted campaign.

They’ll come back worse than ever if you don’t.

Someone is going to have to put boots on the ground to do it. The Iranian people aren’t capable.

Well they’ve taken an arse kicking for 50 years and if they can’t cut it, back under the yoke they go. Hell, we’ll be lucky to dodge our own enslavement.

Not everyone can handle Freedom. They can decide. We eliminated the threat to ourselves. Wish them well. Good enough.

How do you know that? To what extent would we need to arm them for you to deem them capable? What if we’ve spent the past year stockpiling weapons in Iran and in Israel for them and deliver them, to the point they’d be on equal footing in terms of arsenal. Is this enough? Slightly better footing?

I’m not being sarcastic it’s a genuine question. Trump and Bibi have spoken multiple times the Iranians will have to take their country. I can’t fathom what that means other than arming them and making them fight.

It’s amazing isn’t it.

Our instant gratification society has the attention span and the patience of a fruit fly.

Social media and video games probably play a big role.

My how attitudes change so quickly.

2 weeks ago 80% of the posters on this forum said this would easily be over in less than 2 weeks.

I was down voted big time saying this wouldn’t be over in 2 months much less 2 weeks.

Where do the 1.5M Iranian soldiers live?

I am so ignorant when it comes to how that works.

Hell, we are still allowing them to ship their oil to China.

I am guessing this would shock the meth heads if they bothered to read your post since none of the news outlets they listen to will report anything suggesting Iran still has an upper hand and this whole debacle is nothing short of a huge win for the White House.

Did I say Iran has the upper hand? Despite seeing all their high end weapons destroyed Iran still controls what moves in and out of the Strait, currently only their ships laden with oil bound for China. The U.S. isn't going to risk USN assets trying to escort tankers only to be targeted like fish in a barrel navigating a 21-mile wide bottleneck.

One poster said the U.S. should bomb Kharg Island. Prior to hostilities Iran was pushing some 4 million bbl/day through there. The cultists wants old Bonespurs to bomb the entire country down to bedrock, a view that is unrealistic and short-sighted. When this is over and we can hope it ends sooner than later, the world will need those facilities intact. Destroying Kharg Island would most likely drive the price of oil to $150/bbl.

Remember when old Bonespurs bragged about bringing down the price of gas? Now that everyone in the country is paying in excess of $3/gallon he has pivoted to saying with higher prices we make more money.

Who is we?

I must confess I am part of the we, perhaps some of you are too.

Price of oil goes up, I get more money thanks to a grandfather who passed away 30 years before I was born owning some land in Oklahoma.

But I expect most Americans won't enjoy higher gas prices where an increase of 10 cents/gallon translates into another dollar on a fill-up.

Destroying that place would be stupid

We also simply don’t have the right to DESTROY places. Do people ever even question their assumptions on this?

Like, what right do we have to just harm other nations? I’m not a pacifist, but I am a humanist. War should be justified and limited, with clear and achievable goals. Not just bombing a bunch of people and celebrating like it’s a ballgame.

I thought the Iranian people were going to rise up and take their country back? I was convinced that Trump had someone to put in power before they started to attack.
