I expected the Death Penalty.
Death penalty was off the table because he was 17 at the time of the murder. Life without parole was also off the table but life with parole wasn’t.

Can the judge add more time? Or at least remove parole. Any chance of getting out before 50 is bs.

Did you see the thugs outside the courthouse, including the one big black dude screaming "the only good cracker is a dead cracker"? I'm afraid another innocent person is going to be targeted by these scumbags as revenge for KA getting convicted. The cops should be keeping tabs on the shitheads, but I doubt they will.

His dumbass family and retarded supporters walked his arse directly into a 35 year bid instead of seeking a plea deal from the very beginning. Now that he’s been convicted and sentenced, it’s time to go after that six figure slush fund in a wrongful death suit.
From google AI:
quote:
? No plea deal was ever offered by the prosecution to Karmelo Anthony. While rumors circulated on social media that his defense team had rejected a deal, legal analysis of the trial confirmed that the state of Texas refused to extend any plea bargain. Your understanding is correct: because the prosecution holds sole authority over whether an official deal is put on the table, Anthony's legal team had no choice but to take the case to a jury.

35 years isn’t justice. This piece of shite should never see the outside of a prison for the rest of his worthless fricking life. Lock his family and supporters in there with him.

Shut up di(k wad. You, of all people should never correct anyone. You're incorrect on a daily basis here.

This wasn't justice. 35 years isn't justice for this murder.
I tend to agree.
The jury was more female than male.
They DID reject the "passion" consideration that maxed out at 20yrs.
I feel like 35(17.5) was probably born of him being so damned young. It IS a significant sentence- it nearly equals the time he's so far been alive. Yet- it gives a chance he can repent, reform and get his ducks in one sack. Or- if he's an arse in jail- he can spend all 35.
It isn't enough... but 17 years in prison is a mighty long time, I'd imagine.

TX should've borrowed the same tent Austin was murdered in and the same knife the BLACK teen used and execute the BLACK teen in the same manner.
That would be justice.
That’s they way they do it around the Persian Gulf.

The jury spoke.
Texas seems to trust its juries.
The MOST- by law- he can do for murder in Texas without being able to apply for parole is 30yrs. Even then he'd be 48.

Oh yeah. He looks delicate. They gonna love him. He'll 100% have to join one of the gangs for protection...and they are gonna make him their bitch.
He'll have a choice. Either remain alone and get raped, beat and killed by the white gangs, or join a black gang and only get raped and beat.

This is just one example of why you are an a-hole. The poster asking this question likely has skills and knowledge in some area that you likely have no skills in, yet here you are with your high and mighty response with calling the poster a 'moron'. This I think is the best example so far of your absolute dickheadedness. Congratulations for achieving this status, you freaking prickstain. BTW, I have a hunch that your supposed lawyer arse is lamenting the verdict and perhaps the sentencing - regarding the latter, the little shat should have received the max - which I am sure you would argue against if given the opp.
I stated in a post a good while back that I thought you were the same entity as AggieHank, another dickwad supposed lawyer. I have not seen any posts in a good while from this poster - but his post count at the time rivaled yours now. Still have the suspicion that both entities are one here - or y;all are def connected in some way. I suppose AggieHank got banned. And this site should not be an echo chamber, but in your case, IMO you have crossed the line on discourse.

Why would the state extend a plea bargain when the family and their pos spokesman ran around sowing division, showing zero remorse and making knowingly false statements? They should have ran their mouth piece out of town and made a serious effort to show contrition. These fools couldn’t help themselves, inflaming the situation for over a half million in donations. A little humility and a whole lotta stfu goes a long way.

Much better than I expected. I expected 20 years with parole after 10. I'm happy to see the jury had no sympathy for the piece of shite.
That was still ENTIRELY too much sympathy for that POS. He will still be young when he gets out of prison.
That POS had every intention on this type of altercation……he should have gotten life
