What I'm hearing now is that he didn't have a ladder. He used the large commercial a/c condenser and attached electric housing pipe to climb onto the roof.

I don't see how the USSS girl doesn't get fired.

Because they’re handling security for Trump exactly the way they were told to.

encrypted comms with whom?

This could also mean he had a radio, whether stolen or given to him, that was encrypted and he was able to hear the police and other agencies game plan as he was approaching his spot and so he could elude the police when he tried to escape. He probably heard everything that they were saying and planning and new exactly where they all were.

They found his van full of explosives 10 miles away. Who drove him to the rally? He didn’t walk 10 miles with a rifle and a backpack and ladder.

Jackie, where are you seeing "van...10 miles away"? I thought I saw that earlier (maybe "van with Arizona plates"?), but now I can only find that he parked his "Sonata near the site."

Thanks

Exactly. He could have been using any number of apps or sites that won't come up in a search for his real name, so it doesn't mean much when people say he had "no social media presence."

That is a standard cell phone, a ir 12 button transmitter and 9 volt durcel battery.

More than likely he hacked some garage door to gain access to their building or a gate. 9v batter powered the transmitter.

Good eye; thanks.

I’m betting he didn’t use encrypted coms to talk with mom and dad.

I read he parked at Home Depot which is only about a mile. Between them is a small forest and a golf course.

I haven't seen anything about it, but he must have had a "base camp" of sorts closer to the fairgrounds because he doesn't have the gun in the videos from before the rally

ETA: Apparently he did not park at Home Depot

Correct. The older people on this board just assume the only forms of online communications are Facebook and instagram.

How can this possibly be a thing? If this can happen, it calls into question natural assumptions I have on almost ANY topic.

Stand down. Stand down for what? There is someone on the roof. What fricking idiot would give a stand down order while someone is on the roof and Trump is out on stage? You don't stand the frick down. You shoot and kill the bastard then ask questions later.

According to Dan Bongino there is no one giving permission to fire. Bongino said he was told the snipers thought they couldn't get a clear site of the shooter because of the partially obstructed location.

Well, that just opened up a rabbit hole.
Is that any different than just saying "he had Signal/WhatsApp on his phone"?

Keep in mind, this kid was supposedly smart as a whip with computers and coding.

Still doesn't explain why a kid "with no obvious motive" who was working alone to need encrypted communication.

Kid may be sharp as a tack with computers but I doubt he is advanced enough to come up with some better encrypted comms than the CIA or some other fegov alphabet agency.

So the snipers were positioned to give him a clear line of fire from an obvious place

Was watching Redacted and they interviewed a woman who was standing right next to the man who was murdered. She lives in town. Her best friend lives about 10 miles away from the fairground and said the fbi bomb squad came to their door saying there were explosive devices in a van parked on the street. I’ll try to find the clip.

Check out 25:19 where she starts to talk about it.

LOL, that tells you all you need to know right there.

If he was acting alone he knew he would be killed and probably thought he'd be remembered as a hero. He wouldn't have cared about his comms being later discovered. Encryption means someone else was involved. I wonder who?...
