No it isn’t.
Texas was ~70% white in 1980.
~40% white in 2020.
This didn’t happen because of influx from California.

Stupid response.
Why don’t you tell us how white versus non-white votes, generally speaking across millions and for the last 50+ years, and what that means for R versus D?

If black and Hispanics supported Paxton at the same clip they supported Trump 2.0, this wouldn't even be a race. Why is that a crucial factor in this race, but wasn't only 2 years ago?

the betting markets said this before the primary. If John Cornyn were to win, they had him at a 77% chance to win. If Paxton it was 50/50
Paxton does not have a good favorability rating in Texas.

If Paxton hadn't challeneged him, Cronyn wouldn't have had to spend all that money he did in the primary, also. Would be even better for the GOP.
John Cornyn is 74 years old, meaning he’d be 80 at the end of another term, and he’s been in the Senate since 2002. It was time for him to go.
Problem is TX GOP voters decided for Ken Paxton over Wesley Hunt.
Instead of picking a 44 year old Army vet with a beautiful wife and family whom all would have proudly campaigned and made appearances during America’s 250th Independence weekend celebrations and events, we went with a 63 year old who has been a politician himself since 2003, whose wife is divorcing him “on biblical grounds” and spent America’s 250th Independence weekend in Europe with his mistress and having to run away from cameras.
The choice wasn’t simply keep Cornyn or have to run Paxton for the nomination. There was another option. TX GOP voters made this thing harder on themselves than it should have been.

Nah. It's on Trump. Cornyn failed his purity test and he released the hounds without any regard for governance prior to the mid terms, and a ridiculous assumption that just because he was able to campaign to dominance in TX, that Paxton would to. Candidate Trump is a force of nature. Candidate Paxton is a joke.
Then you have Talarico hammering on affordability while Trump claims that isn't a real term. And Paxton (whenever he decides to spesk) promises to go along with whatever Trump says, whenever he says it. MAGA on the board considers that a positive, but i don't think most Texans do.

All of this is 100% corrrect.

Blacks in texas voted for 47 at about the same rate as 45. They voted for GWB higher than 47&45.
Hispanics turned out for 47 in ‘24 (55 to 45) but voted 60 to 40 (or more) D in ‘20, ‘16, ‘12, ‘08. If you are counting on this demo to keep texas red, you are in trouble.

All the more reason to vote for Paxton.

But but... HE CHEATED ON HIS WIFE!!!!!! REEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!! So by all means, we should have voted for the do nothing traitor RINO Cornyn, or we should vote for the closet fig trans loving child grooming America hating white apologist leftist vegan beta "white guys for Kamala" Democrat nerd, Talafreako.

Yep.
They're all pissed that someone deigned to kick Cornyn to the curb.
I'm also sure, behind the scenes, Thune has given some direct or indirect warnings to them to "stay out of it," just like he warned Trump to do during the vote for him to be the new Senate majority leader when people realized Turtle was turning into a vegetable and could croak any day. Thune is pissed his GOPe RINO buddy Cornyn was ousted.

Right. But isn't that what we're saying? Put forward a good candidate that can appeal to multiple demographics. Not just a yes man with Trumps rubber stamp. This election is more about the crappy GOP candidate than a fear that Texas is turning purple. Don't just expect whitey to vote white in enough numbers to win. Actually run a campaign.

The Paxton campaign ads have written themselves. If this freak wins, Texas never-Trumper conservatives who didn't vote for Paxton deserve everything they get.

It’s refreshing to see principle before party in the GOP.
Draping Jesus statutes in rainbow and tranny pride flags, transing and sexually grooming children, ushering a complete islamic invasion of Texas, hating America and American values, veganism, white apologism and crying for violent black criminals that carry out raciallly motivated murders of white people?
Some great principles there, guy.
