You wanna see the SHTF?
Let them do just that.
Let them do just that.

Except that Turtle can do things like fill the amendment tree to prevent that from being added or even prevent it from ever coming up for a vote.

They must want the Capitol burned to the ground.
Because it sounds like they want the Capitol burned to the ground.

There is no good argument to have a secret ballot. Constituents should know how their representatives vote on issues and especially on the impeachment of an elected official.

Key word...."considering"
I don't think it's unusual that a Republican Senator would say to this guy "Sure, I'll consider it....that's my duty. Consider the evidence then make my conclusion."
Isn't that what's supposed to happen, technically? The referenced Senators will undoubtedly find the evidence to be woefully deficient and upon that consideration vote in the negative.

This is BS. Not a single R senator will vote to convict. Not a one. Had the Dems used a different process in the House, and been more fair and above board there might have been a chance of picking up some R votes. Instead, they chose the hyper partisan approach, so they now have no chance. A vote to convict by a R is not only political suicide, it is a futile gesture since there will be no conviction anyway. There is a better chance of some Dems voting to acquit.

Sasse has to know it would be his funeral politically. He would be replaced by a Republican anyway

They don't GAF about optics of unfairness. This is all about deals to force Trump's hand in policy. Then they are hoping people will get pissed if Trump backs down on policies.
I updated the OP. I apologize for not including the article I added in the first place.

They wouldn’t even get all of the Democrats. Joe Manchin would cancel Mitt out.
Posted on 12/6/19 at 10:34 am to cajunangelle
Romney has to get on the ballot first.
He can ask Bob Bennett how it feels to be the sitting senator and not even make it to the primary in Utah.

Senators only and that's if the state chooses that option (they can also choose to hold an election). In the House there has to be an election.

This is bullshite misinformation that Murphy is spreading through friendly outfits.

I have a feeling that quite a few congressmen will be resigning when more and more investigations come to light.

Evidence that anything goes in back door dealings in DC is that-- Turtle knew this plan with Pelosi over a month ago. (He could have easily announced a hard stop ages ago) He didn't, he toyed and said 'just enough' to appear like he is on the side of fairness.
More evidence that none of them really care is: we have a sitting President with the albatross of the "I" word around his neck with no set crime in precedence.
The case is weak and currently partisan because it is an act to reign in Trump... possibly cause him to lose re-election. R's don't care about majority or the gavel. They only cared about Kav because Turtle chose him.
Read the article I added to the OP.

They have seen that their side can generally ride out such accusations.
Look at Gerry Studds and Bawney Fwank as examples. Christ, they have an impeached federal judge as one of their senior Congressmen.

He's blatantly lying, or more likely spinning like a top.
I mean, imagine the opposite of his answer, GOP senator saying "No, I won't even consider it." Of course they're not going to put it like that.
**And I do believe the "secret ballot" part is a fabrication.

Why would this have to be done in secret? Juan Williams is claiming 70% of American favor removal.
