I don't know his reasoning but if I were having a massive heart attack, I could probably call my wife quicker than 911 just because I call her everyday and my contacts icon is on the bottom left of my screen and my wife is the first contact.
Guess I could summons "Hey Google" but it ignores me way too often.

Agreed. Also, it is very painful and he knew to hit the last call he had in pure panic. His mind acted in a second of who he can trust.
I always made fun of the automated announcement calling the doctors office "if you need help, hang up and call 911" i get it now...
The mind panics, a stroke could distort, confuse.

quote:THIS is why I retired from corporate life. I was international. My work had me traveling and working awful hours, meetings at 2:00am, all nighters sometimes. No time for myself and caught up on a work treadmill I couldn't get off. My dad had a quintuple bypass, five stents, and a pacemaker. Both my maternal grandparents died from heart disease before the 70. I have been on blood pressure and cholesterol meds for 30 years. Genetics. No time for exercise. Just barely taking care of my place. Spent all free time with family and everything for the kids. I got to looking like Lindsay. Puffy. Soft. Old.
71 isn’t very old these days but not young either. Lindsey was a workaholic with artery disease, and likely not on a good sleep schedule due to traveling all the time. Not a good recipe.
If you'd known me then and saw me today you wouldn't recognize me. I got in-shape after retirement. I work out 3x -4x every week, lift and run 4-5 miles 3x -4x every week, or throw in a 6-10 mile hike. I eat better, prepare most of my meals myself, and take supplements such as creatine. I went from a very unhealthy 36 BMI to (currently) 26.3 and trying to get it down to 25, which is a lot harder at this age, I can tell you.
Graham likely lived a very stressful life, ate really nice, but rich meals, didn't exercise and he was never surrounded by family that loved him. I was headed to the same date, and may still have the same fate, but I'm doing what I can to not go out yet. He never gave himself the opportunity.

I could actually see a US Senator not wanting their weakened and scared voice on a recorded 911 call.
Yep, and if so, that vanity may have cost him his life. Whose to say that if the paramedics arrived a few moments earlier, he’s not still alive?

He probably doesn't even know how to access the number pad on his phone, he just dials people in his contact list.
"Is it good for me politically to personally call 911 or should I let you do it for me"?
I guess we must extrapolate it to everything they do.

Yeah, I know. Redd Foxx was awesome.

Lindsey called [and] basically said, ‘Listen, I’m having chest pains. You know, I need to do something,'” the former college football coach recounted. “[She said,] ‘Did you call 911?’ And he goes, ‘No, that’s the reason I called you.’ And so she called 911 … By the time she got there, 911 had knocked the door down, and they were working on him.”
This is such a politician move. Waste time calling the assistant to call 9-11 for you instead of calling 911 yourself. Those few minutes might have saved his life

My call would be to my wife also. Probably not smart, but that would be my first instinct

I really wonder about the depth of common sense with some of you.

That would imply that grahams most trusted person is the associate of another senator
That’s weird. He should’ve just called 911. Or perhaps he was talking to the person and he stopped responding so then they called, which is more believable.

Yeah he was probably already on the phone or in extreme panic just clicked his last call.
