Jack Detsch
@JackDetsch
Just in: Navy official pushes back on leak of Acting SecNav Modly remarks criticizing fired Capt. Crozier as "too stupid or too naive" to lead: “There is no official transcript of the Secretary’s remarks to the crew of USS Theodore Roosevelt." Remarks intended to be private.

Why the hell is this such an important issue to you?

An aircraft carrier captain was fired. One person. One person fired

Unbelievable that you are thinking about this right now instead of more pressing issues

A. He's acting because Braithwaite hasn't been confirmed, yet.

II. The President and Secretary of Defense get to make this call.

Guess who gets to make the call that a vessel commander is "Too stupid or naive" to command a U.S. Navy vessel?

Hint: It's the (Acting) Secretary of the Navy.

Game, set, match.

Did he compromise national security in his address to the ship's personnel?

Or, he did it intentionally, knowing it would get out.

SecNav isn't subject to UCMJ

1. Sailors shouldn't have put this out on the internet.

2. The SECNAV is absolutely correct.

There was nothing wrong with that address.

The captain brought the ship into port in Vietnam during the outbreak, he should have been fired.

Apparently Mr. Modly acted at the behest of his civilian employer and the Navy had nothing to do with this, should be fun to watch this shake out

Liars lie. Jack Detsch lies.

"Navy official"?
bullshite! Name names or GTFO.

As was stated here two days ago in response to the question "Why was Navy Capt. Crozier fired?"
He was fired for public revelation of the disabled status of a US carrier. LINK

Can one of you filth go ahead and put a list of names together that can/can’t be fired by the highest ranking official in the US?

I need to know when we can sky scream next.

K.

Thanks.

If you’ve never been, you don’t understand the ucmj. They can technically get you for anything. Everything the secnavy said was correct. He told capabilities outside proper channels and now everyone, even our enemy’s know.
I get the crews reaction. He’s beloved. Probably a great co to serve with but he messed up. All adults get over it and back to work.
