That’s on us as much as it is them, but do you think our current situation is sustainable politically or economically? I don’t. That leaves either one side dominating the other or a split.
I would not support staying in the current shared federal structure if the Momdani DSA takes over, period.
That said I think the blue state coalition would fail within 25 years due to economic and population factors.
My concern is specifically that the Chinese would prop them up via predatory loans as they’ve done in Africa and within a generation the red states despite experiencing economic and political success could be dealing with onshore Chinese presence in North America as a result as the Chinese extract resources to pay back the loans.

I sure hope so.

I don't think even our kids and grandkids will have to seriously worry about that. The electoral college will go first and then maybe the senate sometime after that.
Most arguments for the abolishment of the electoral college also work for the abolishment of the senate. The left wants to do both. The path to getting rid of the electoral college is much easier than getting senators to agree to becoming unemployed.

if the US was to break up, i doubt it happens along state lines. need to look more at the county lines. (2024 presidential election by county)

we should just repeal the 17th Amendment. It was put in place because the state legislatures were putting rich people in those seats.

I think if we avoid kinetic civil war it would need to be done at the state level functionally.
There’s no way any sort of sustainable split occurs at the county level unless it’s reallocating counties across state lines like letting NOVA join Maryland or E Washington joining Idaho, etc.
Or are you proposing a liberal city state model like you saw in Ancient Greece that would be surrounded by red America?

I know people in here have been paying attention, but society at large seems to be completely clueless on the balkanization that has taken place here in America over the last decade or so. Because of it, after the next census, only "blue states" will lose congressional representation and only "red states" will gain them.
In reality, people are already voting w/ their feet to split. Hopefully it gets to a point where it's obvious to the masses that a split is necessary. Let the west coast and NE do stupid west coast and NE shite. Leave the rest of us to try to get closer to the kind of limited government republic we've wanted forever.

2/3 of that states have to agree to an Amendment. It won't happen. It isn't even close to happening. They have zero chance of removing the senate or electoral college. They will take the route of new statehood to increase seats.

These lunatics will just infiltrate these states to convert them. See Texas and the Muslims. Specifically the McKinney City Council mtg recently. We are being invaded at an alarming rate.
