Well she’s a communist so you can understand her confusion on the topic.

If she's a self-declared communist then she is very confused.

Because what she's proposing is straight fascism, and the whole point of fascism was to provide an alternative to both capitalism and communism, as Mussolini rejected both.

And how will she accomplish this? Will she kidnap the grocer's families and demand people go to work as her ransom?

Apparently not.

She wouldn't have to counter everything you did one by one, therefore remaining constantly frustrated by your rule changing. You wouldn't make the rules. She would.

(If she actually had the power to do any of this) she'd just send you a memo prohibiting you from deviating from the prescribed schedule for any reason unless it was approved, tell you what your hours would be, how many employees you would carry, what you would pay them, etc.

Change the opening date to the next day in perpetuity.

Closed for renovations.

Closed for pest control.

Closed for training

The grocery stores should make it so you have to have a photo ID to purchase anything .

Ok.

How will the mayor force the corporate owners to ship food to the store? They could just sell through the inventory then let the employees go and leave the doors open.

Store is open, but has nothing to sell.

If she wants them to stay then support efforts to make it a safe place to shop. Rouse opened a new store on Florida and Ardenwood a couple years ago. There is a police officer on detail there and the store remains clean and safe and an inviting place to shop despite being close to some o the crime ridden areas of the city. Instead of coddling criminals as victims Madame Mayor should support enforcement and prosecution instead of allowing dissidents to create their City of Chaz in the middle of the street.

Basically this will result in a ban on grocery stores opening in her city...

parcels just outside city limits just went up in value (assuming those townships aren't as idiotic)

My question to her is this: Why do you have this belief that groceries stores are going to close? Why is that? Why do you believe that businesses that have been open for business for decades are planning on closing? Why?

Claims, and does, are two separate things. Do it. Drop this executive order. Now. I'm bored, I need this entertainment.

I am going to guess the lack of prosecuting shop lifters is the reason grocery stores can't make money.

Why couldnt a Mayor, Open and run a gocery store funded by the city?

They all launder money. The perfect front would be a grocery store that doesn charge and uses donations/taxes.

This has to be close to End Game Politics.
