Any adult should be capable of mailing a ballot ahead of time for it to get to its destination in time

Depends if they vote Republican or Democrat.

If they rule that election “day” is the key here then it opens up the entire potential concerns about early and mail in voting as well in the future. If they treat Election Day as a hard cutoff, then is it also then a hard start date? If they treat mail in ballots as a post marked issue, then what is the rule about when voting can or can’t occur?
That dynamic isn’t present when determining a start date.

The problem is that mail-in ballots serve the same purpose as voting booths remaining open late at night so fake voters can sign in for people who didn't show up to vote. It fascilitates cheating in the key districts. That's why Dems gain in both catagories. Dems rely on cheating.

Thankfully our CIC hasn't put us in any wars so the troops should have plenty of time to vote

Yeah. We couldn't possibly make an exception for citizens stationed and/or living overseas.
Literally everyone reading this thread knows this isn't what the fight is about. Including you, you disingenuous hack.

Sure make an exception for overseas military absentee ballots, I dont really think thats the issue being discussed.
Only if identity verified and recorded when they vote, AND the ballots dont exceed the amount of troops.
We have daily flights oversees, to those bases. Zero reason the can't get here in time

So if they go with postmark date, how long after election day can you keep counting those that are postmarked prior to, forever?
And what happens when the USPS doesn’t postmark them?

Mail in ballots should be received no later than 5 days before election day. Period
Not counted until all precincts have closed for that state
It's not hard

The problem is when this topic is discussed some scream “states rights”.
Due to ease of process and costs most/all states combine federal and state only elections together. This saves them time and money. But leftists have taken advantage of this and now claim it can’t be changed.
What needs to happen is POTUS (and really congress but they are worthless sacks of shite) needs to change the federal election rules.
If the election has POTUS/Senate/Congress on the ballet it should be mandatory to arrive on/before election day. This would fix our federal elections.
Once that's done then each state can decide if they want to print 2 ballots. One for federal and one for state only candidates. Or to save money print them all together. If printed together then they would have to meet federal regs. If separate then Fed needs to be on/before and state can be whatever TF they want.
This fixes our representation in DC because too many seats are stolen by allowing late arrivals after they know numbers needed.
Most states would still print together to save money and efficiencies. But places like Cali might separate them which os fine as long as they Fed seats by Fed rules.
Thats how you fix it. And you maintain states rights yet satisfy Fed rules.

I don't necessarily care about "postmark" but if you are mailing your vote in Election Day - it should not count as a vote when received a week later
I would make all mail in votes received by 5pm on Election Day to be counted and nothing after no matter when received or postmarked.
Absolutely have to get rid of the 10,000 mail in ballots sitting in. Idea in someone's car waiting to be pulled out the next day.
