Because I have no interest in invading other countries.

I don't believe I've done that.

Why are you so emotional about this? Do you have family in Ukraine?

Decatur is really deranged over any questioning of establishment narratives on IC/MIC issues.

If Russia or China meddled in Mexico 1/10th as much as we have in Ukraine, we would have gone to WWIII over it (justifiably).

Good. Now if Trump is smart he will drop little Z on his head, let the chips fall where they may, and let Europe deal with the mess that they and Biden created.

yeah, the average Ukrainian is totally fighting for this reason. Not Russian tanks rolling into their city.

Ukrainians could have avoided the Russian tanks by not poking the bear by playing footsie with NATO and listening to idiots in the Biden administration along with 90% of elected republicans. I feel sorry for the Ukrainian people, but they would have been much better off telling Europe and the US to go fly a kite.

Based on Tucker's interview with Putin this conflict in what is called Ukraine now stems all the way back to the Khazar Khaganate of 862. I asked Grok to summarize the history that Putin was talking about. This is a summary of Grok's summary:

After the Khazars, in the 10th-13th centuries the region settled down as Kyivan Rus’ which was predominantly Orthodox Christianity. Then from the 13th to the 15th centuries the region fell under Mongol (Golden Horde) Rule. They were then pushed out by the Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth & Crimean Khanate from the west that lasted though the 15th to 17th centuries. In the 17th century the Cossack Hetmanate pushed back against the Polish and almost simultaneously from the north the Russian empire expanded in the region and ruled until the 19th century. Finally in the 20th century Lenin and the Bolsheviks created Ukraine as a separate Soviet republic.

Seems as if this region is ALWAYS in conflict.

The question is why? Why is this region always fighting?

Not one of the blue and yellow face sticker wearers has ever explained in logical detail why Russia's conquest of Ukraine impacts the United States one iota.

Better question is why don’t we leave a region that has been in violent upheaval for millennia, and let those it most affects deal with it and pay for it?

If I am Russia and NATO is advancing

You’re making 2 assumptions.
First the Russian nuclear weapons have been better maintained than there army, air force, and navy. Why should they have not been plundered by equal corruption.
Second, the only thing keeping China from reclaiming the territories that Russia stole from them in the late 19th and 20th Centuries is a complete Russian nuclear force that works.
quote:

NATO encroachment and western corruption is why we are here!!

Nope.
Putin wants to recapture lost non-Russian territories they lost after the collapse of the Soviet Union.
Russia is way more corrupt than any Western nation!

The EU was not interested in confronting Russia militarily. They barely kept their military forces economically viable. The Germans just wanted to buy cheap dependable Russian natural gas while barely paying for a military.

You my friend are swallowing Putin Punch by the gallon!

Putin could easily get NATO to agree to leave Ukraine neutral with neither occupying any territory! But he can’t, because without victory, he is a deadman walking.

According to Moon of Alabama, that is exactly wat he is doing.

Some people claimed that this uttering showed that Trump had changed his mind over Ukraine.

It was far from that. Trump was in fact mocking the delusional assessments General Keith Kellogg and General Dan Caine had given him:

quote:

Special Presidential Envoy Keith Kellogg on Monday said he and the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff recently advised President Trump that Russia is losing its war on Ukraine — as Moscow has seen more than 1 million casualties while taking less than 1% of Ukrainian territory since November 2022.

“If Putin thinks Russia is winning, his definition of winning and my definition of winning are absolutely two different things,” Kellogg said. “If he was winning, he’d be in Kyiv. If he’s winning, he’d be west of the Dnipro River. If he was winning, he’d be on Odessa. If he was winning, he would have changed the government.

“Russia is, in fact, losing this war,” he added.

The two military experts gave their assessment in response to Trump’s then-prodding as to whether Putin’s grandstanding of supposed success in Ukraine was true, Kellogg said, giving a rare glimpse into private discussions at the White House.

“I responded quite forcefully, and I finally said, ‘Mr. President, don’t just listen to me. Your chairman of the Joint Chiefs, Dan Caine, is outside. He’s out in the hall, bring him in and ask him that question. He’s your senior, he’s your principal military adviser,’” Kellogg said.

“And he did, and Dan said the same thing. He went, ‘Nope, not winning.’”

When Trump repeated the implausible propaganda claims Kellogg had made it was pure sarcasm. Trump knows that “seeking a decisive Russian defeat is a virtually impossible goal that presents serious and unwarranted risks“.

He used the sarcasm to wash his hand over further action about Ukraine. It is also relieving him of pressure to continue talks with Russia.

It took two days for the New York Times to acknowledge this (archived):

I honestly feel bad for Ukranians. Z is a pos dug addict, but the people have sacrificed their sons in order to keep their land. I hope they are able to pull out a miracle so there is still a Ukraine in the future.
