They're proposing a $50 billion "plan" that includes repealing the Trump Tax plan. Press conference included leaders of both unions bashing Trump and Republicans. Obviously, they're attempting to use teacher pay as a platform heading into the midterm elections.

Video

Teacher unions are concerned that they will lose thousands of members after the SCOTUS Janus case is made public next month. Democrats are concerned as well as that decision and the lower membership numbers will result in decreased campaign contributions.

The unions and DNC are hoping to stir up 3.2 million public school teachers for the midterms and especially in red/battleground states such as Arizona, NC and CO.

Appealing to the unions. How novel.

Should play well when Republicans counter with how shitty of a job these teachers are doing, or how police unions manage to get people like the coward in Broward a lifetime pension of over $8000 per month for the rest of his life.

I’m sure the same media that bashed trump for his tax plan and how it would raise the deficit is going to discuss this huge investment.

In other words we are going to scrap the Trump Tax Plan that honest Americans can admit that is working and raise taxes to pay for this...and by doing this it will cost people their jobs...this overall would be a job killer...

So they want to give teachers raises by removing their Trump tax cuts? I don't think they understand how pay raises work.

Democrats

"hey teachers, we propose raising taxes so that we can give you raises which will put you in a higher tax rate and actually end up with you taking home less than you currently are"

Teachers who have been brainwashed by liberal colleges "yes yes yes, we hate Republicans even though we make more money now than we will if Democrats take over"

And these idiots want MORE money?

The moment you realize 'Trump is a meaniepants!!!' and basically nothing else is not a viable campaign platform.

Trump can't talk out of both sides of his mouth on this one, though

Federal level officials running on teacher pay.

The sad part is, there are a lot of stupid people that will lap it up

Yes, imagine that. Congressmen who don't deserve the pay they receive demanding more pay that teachers don't deserve.

Chuck Schumer should be demanding a law that allows NYC to fire the umpteen teachers they have sitting around doing nothing all day while collecting millions in salary because no one wants them anywhere near students. If he really gave a frick about NY that is.
