Study the history of the papacy and you’ll quickly realize it lost its way long, long ago.
I’m not sure how anyone with an understanding of how and why the popes were being elected going back to feudal times would listen to anything any of them say.
God had nothing to do with how they were being elected, politics and money did.

I try not to call people idiots, but some need to hear it.

I'm not bashing him. I'm disagreeing with him. I'm Catholic. We can disagree with the pontiff.

Okay Father Bob, let's start by tearing down all the windmills and solar farms that destroy landscapes, ravage ecosystems, and kill wildlife.

You'd think they would have learned from that old Galileo/Copernicus/Kepler debacle.

I can't think of a less Christian stance than "man controls the climate." This should be a disqualifying viewpoint for anyone seeking a Christian leadership position.

Great idea! IMHO this is part of taking care of God's creation.
We Americans have done plenty to protect the Earth. Pope cannot possibly be talking to us about this.

"Some have chosen to deride the increasingly evident signs of climate change, to ridicule those who speak of global warming, and even to blame the poor for the very thing that affects them the most."
It sounds like he's speaking against words, not just actions. In particular, he's speaking against those who are criticizing climate change and global warming (I assume this includes its existence and the man-made contribution to it) and blame the poor countries who are contributing to it (China and India, primarily).
I could be wrong in my interpretation of his words, but it definitely seems to be that he's not just being critical of those who aren't doing enough, but those who are even speaking of the issue negatively.

It is my belief that Catholics and Protestants (and Orthodox Christians) will have to unite for the faith to win.
As a Protestant, I will never submit to the pope's authority. Its heretical. Catholics interpret this as me calling them heretics, but thats not what I believe. I believe their faith has been distorted by worldly forces, just as I believe Protestants who believe in dispensationalism have been distorted by worldly forces.
We are all susceptible to this, and I'm sure I am guilty of it on some levels too. I want us all to step into the light together, forgive each other for our disagreements, and embrace the core principals that are the underpinnings of all of Christianity.

I thought he said he wan't doing politics. or is this opinion okay because it is global?
Is is correct he went against traditional Mass?
Does that Vatican have a carbon credits bank account?

Hey Catholics,
It looks like it's another dud with the whole "sole vicar of Christ" thing and submitting to Rome.
It's time to come home (like so many of your brethren are already doing)

Excellent point.
IIRC at the time "Rome" was under the rule of Pope Urban VIII in 1633 who governed the Papal States. Because the pope meandered outside of his authority on faith and morals, he placed Galileo Galilei in house arrest for telling people the earth revolves around the sun.

The problem is the lack of Orthodox communities in America.

Here I am... ridiculing the climate Chicken Littles (and Woke Pope 2.0), because I am not a scientific retard that willingly ignores the paleoclimatological history of this planet.

So the new Pope is a moron. Got it.
Posted on 10/10/25 at 10:32 am to loogaroo
Has he decided how much additional taxes need to be collected for the state so they can say they fix said problem or will he be releasing funds from the MEGA-sized coffers of the Vatican to remedy??

What is the proper catholic way to tell him to eat shite?
