Russia has turned to a terrifying new tactic in its assaults on Ukraine, launching nonstop waves of armed drones in recent days into busy areas of the capital, Kyiv. The relentless attacks have left residents exhausted and on edge as air raid sirens bellow nearly constantly.
With Moscow firing drone after drone into Kyiv, including many powered with jet engines that help them fly so fast they are difficult to intercept, many in the capital have begun to accept that they may be facing a new phase of the war.
This period threatens to be more dangerous and unpredictable for Kyiv than any since the first weeks of Russia’s 2022 invasion. It comes as the city already faces increased danger from powerful Russian ballistic missiles as Moscow capitalizes on depleted Ukrainian air defenses.
While Russia has long conducted deadly drone attacks on Kyiv, the weapons have often come in overnight barrages and have not tormented the city throughout the day. Residents long ago grew used to the menacing hum of slower-moving drones but now face the danger of the jet-powered models, which crash into a target before anyone nearby has a chance to run.
The waves of drones have arrived in Kyiv just as residents are trying to enjoy the waning warm days of summer, craving some normalcy. On Saturday morning in the bustling Obolon neighborhood, dozens of customers were seated on the popular See You Cafe’s shaded terrace for brunch even as air raid sirens blared.

Good, the sooner they conquer that corrupt, smugass excuse for a country the better. Sure is going to suck for them as they wish they took one of the million deals they were offered.

Yeah, their "alliance" has done a phenomenal job of depleting our strategic reserves of everything from artillery shells to interceptors

does that 200 billion include the 5 billion she spent to bring about the coup? probably not. how much of that 200 billion has been outright stolen and deposited in some bank account in cyprus. bet joe biden made plenty.

Seems like odd behavior for a war to expect to sit outside and enjoy brunch. Just like they had videos of all the young people going out to bars at night and congregating outside.

Sleep deprivation torture on a mass scale is actually a pretty genius idea from a tactical standpoint

Slavic people are different. Svetlana in the Sopranos sums it up pretty well
“That’s the problem with you Americans, you expect nothing bad to ever happen. The rest of the world expects only bad to happen, and they are not disappointed. You Americans have everything, yet you still complain.”
Anyways that mindset is why they’re having brunch outside while drones fly overhead. They don’t have an expectation to see tomorrow anyways so enjoy today

Its the US fault, we wont give them enough weapons......
Heck we could have given Gomer Pyle half what we have given and he could have shown some progress.
Thats what happens when your objective is to start a war to steal not to win.
Funny no mention of this in the ongoing thread that has been tagged, according to them cargo pants has almost finished off Russia with a pocket knife and a toothpick, course he needed the ghost of kiev to do it.

It amazes me that people really think Ukraine started the war.

Well lobbing bombs at people of Russian heritage in the Donbas will kinda sorta make people think that, especially when Nuland is waving Benjamins.

Exactly the behavior I'd expect from our bourgeoisie class as well.
