You cannot imagine an undetectable swim up device with a 100-megaton capacity exploding adjacent to the Lincoln Memorial, or in NY harbor, or Boston, or Norfolk, or Charleston, or Savannah, or Miami, or New Orleans, or St Louis, etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc.

So what? No one anywhere is even contemplating using such a weapon.

And Putin knows what would happen if he utilized such a weapon.

There's no need for either side to use weapons of this nature. They know that if they were to be used, it means everyone loses. In modern day warfare, precision weaponry is not only more effective while being less destructive to infrastructure, less people die.

Says the person who buys into fearmongering over Russian tsunami-nukes and actually believes that nuclear escalation is a factor in the war in Ukraine.

But now that I think about it, Moscow has stated those things so I’m sure you bought it lock, stock and barrel. After all, anything Moscow says is total truth to NC_Tigah.

I’m frail because I don’t think nuclear weapons are a part of the calculus for any player involved in Ukraine? My mocking of those that actually buy that bullshite is frailty?

Call me stupid or whatever else, but I don’t get how that is “frail”

We aren’t.

Zelinsky was FAR too inexperienced a leader to handle any challenging situation. Much less one as challenging as any war lead-in in a century. He had zero gravitas.

It’s not like he was chosen to stop a Russian invasion. He was elected president and like you posted, Putin thought he had an easy target and launched the invasion.

Yes, I agree; he messed up.

Nonetheless, Ukraine isn't going to threaten Moscow. Moscow can obliterate Kiev.

Talk of Ukraine marching on Moscow or really on any part of Russia is nothing but BS. That is never going to happen. And yes, Russia could level Kiev any time they want.

Zelinsky needs to sit with the best negotiators on the planet (assuming they'd all be made available for him .. looking at assholes like Boris Johnson)

No doubt, but unless Ukraine just wants to rollover, they need Putin to negotiate and they need teeth in the agreement. Russia will say one thing and find an excuse tomorrow to violate the agreement.

Putin didn’t want Ukraine to join NATO so he invaded but by this action he caused Sweden who’s been neutral for 200 years and Finland who’s border sits a stones throw away from St Petersburg to join Nato. If this is about Nato vs Russia than Nato has already won.

Thousands of Americans have done just that. Unfortunately we can’t ask them why they joined, volunteered or served now, but they did.
And no, I realize what a nuclear war would bring, but there is a point in time where you have to defend yourself. Ukraine isn’t that time. We can’t just help without thinking about the impact it has on Russia. And you have to know that Russia will be responsible too.

Perhaps "mutually ASSURED destruction" has no more meaning to you than it does to the imbecile to which my post was addressed. That would surprise me. I assumed you were substantially brighter. But I guess it's possible????
