What is the truth about Trump? That he was a good president, didn't get us into any wars, black unemployment was low, gas and groceries were affordable, the border was secure and a wall under construction, he fast tracked a vaccine that all of his political rivals ended up unequivocally embracing and promoting. Unfortunately for Trump his first term was destroyed by Covid-19, which destroyed a lot of other things too.

People like Drudge do not like Trump on a surface level, but there is no denying he was a much, much better president than Biden. If you are an intelligent person but you vote for Biden over Trump, you are cutting off your nose to spite your face.

There is absolutely value in that. The difference is that I can find the progressive or democrat take on issues in a lot of places. Drudge was a great resource for finding the counter to those stances (and not just Fox News) aggregated in one place.

I think the point is, "the other side" can be found at innumerable other outlets.

There's no need for someone who used to be sort of the counterpoint of that, who flipped a switch and is now doing nothing but parroting it instead.

Do you frequent his site now? I'm not being flip. I'm genuinely trying to figure out who his current market is. It all seems rather pointless to me.

Drudge was open on my desktop since before the Monica Lewinsky affair. Right up till he turned on us. Haven't missed it. Revolver holds that tab now.

Sure went downhill fast when they slightly increased the font size and put these little dots everywhere.

He's awful.

I just listened to the "Finding Matt Drudge" podcast series and it was very good but also didn't have a ton of definitive stuff to go on b/c he's so heckin mercurial.

The host and some guests don't really understand why the falling out with Trump. Most theories centered around the fact that Trump didn't get the border wall finished, but then why endorse Biden?

Drudge is very petty - like he refused to give Tucker Carlson any links on Drudge Report after Tucker started the Daily Caller website back in the 2010's. Tucker couldn't understand why but eventually learned it's because they happened to both be appearing on FNC one random night and chatted in the greenroom. Drudge told Tuck that he was about to travel to Israel for a bit, and Tuck happened to mention that live on air. So Drudge held that grudge for like a year until Tuck figured it out and gave him a groveling apology. Then all of a sudden he started getting the links he craved.

Drudge is good friends with Ann Coulter who also now hates Trump. None of that makes sense IMO.

If you look at his polls from the 2016 election he'd get hundreds of thousands of votes during the debates.

Now he gets like 40K to 50K responses (granted Trump wasn't in the debates, but still).

I basically start and finish my days here. Drudge used to be the place to go to find out anything and everything notable not just here but globally. It was a great aggregator for the news. There were links to major news and opinion outlets across the world. I forget how many visitors Drudge got monthly but he did track it and it was an enormous numbers... something like 100 million plus monthly. Then he sold and the difference was notable and it was quick. I haven't been back since.

Drudge was bought out during the Trump administration and flipped completely overnight. As a result, I don’t use it anymore.

This is not true according to the Finding Matt Drudge podcast.

Also, the site is still obsessed with idiosyncratic topics of a middle-aged gay man like Lana Del Rey, Harry Styles, Tom Brady, Tom Ford, Miami property values, etc.

It's hard to believe that a third party who bought the site would still be linking to random Lana Del Rey and Tom Ford gossip regularly.

IF that duo happens, I'd watch to see if either knows that the other one is alive. Starting with Biden falling over the reading of Drudge's name.

Would an endorsement from Matt Drudge even move the needle anyhow? 99 out of 100 Americans wouldn't be able to pick him out of a lineup.

Anybody who is politically savvy and tuned in enough to know who Matt Drudge is would certainly know who they will vote for.

Like most of the stuff you rush here to post to be the first one and get attention, unlikely it actually happens

Yeah I think HHTM! is lying b/c he didn't even post a link. The story makes no sense - who the frick cares if some pasty bald hermit endorses Joe Biden.

I really have no idea how someone does such a political 180 as Drudge has.

It's mind boggling.

Not one bit. Pretty stupid by the ones running the JObama campaign.

Show another turncoat trying to suckup to DC insiders.

All the while, they are flooding the country with illegals, oil is spiking, and the dollar continues to lose its value. Tonedeaf.
