May 28, 2025, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced a new visa restriction policy targeting foreign officials, including European and British officials, who he alleges are complicit in censoring Americans’ free speech online. In a statement posted on X, Rubio said, “For too long, Americans have been fined, harassed, and even charged by foreign authorities for exercising their free speech rights. Today, I am announcing a new visa restriction policy that will apply to foreign officials and persons who are complicit in censoring Americans. Free speech is essential to the American way of life — a birthright over which foreign governments have no authority.” He further criticized efforts by foreign governments to pressure U.S. tech companies into adopting global content moderation rules affecting U.S. social media users, stating, “It is unacceptable for foreign officials to issue or threaten arrest warrants on U.S. citizens or U.S. residents for social media posts on American platforms while physically present on U.S. soil.” This policy was praised by the House Judiciary Committee on X, with posts indicating it as a response to foreign censorship efforts.[]

Yep, if they don’t value our beliefs they have no reason to come here and enjoy our country.

There needs to be consequences for their authoritarianism

Countries that don't support free speech are not our allies.

You only care about the white race. Saw your comment degrading Hispanics earlier just because they are brown.

Besides the nuke deal that’s the 2nd most damaging thing Obama has done.

No foreigner who isn't unabashedly pro-America should be allowed here.

I love Britain but I support the hell out of this. Free Speech has to reign everywhere and where it doesn't, it's hard for me to feel sorry for them when they get sanctions like this.

On a related note, Rubio just keeps winning, doesn't he?

If they share a one-on-one opinion, I got no problem with that. When you engage in anti-American activities like shutting down universities so you can put forth your opinion, that's not protesting and you need to be perp-walked all the way back to Baka-Laka-Land.
