No one that intelligent interjects into politics any more really. The ones that do aren’t willing to subject their families to the maw of modern American politics. They’re backbenchers that resign after 3/4 House terms or limit themselves to state office, etc.
If you want Reagan-esque political discourse, you’re basically stuck indefinitely with Aaron Sorkin’s screenwriting.
