Cassidy’s vote to impeach Trump could help him for Governor
…if he’s running in California or New England.

That said - don't you ever talk to me like that again. I've got a thick skin. And I can take a joke. But you're probably the one that owes me an apology now
Sentrius is a Dan Satterberg Republican.
For information on Heroin Dan Satterberg, a Republican until KTTH basically shamed the Washington State GOP into kicking him out.

I voted for Bill Cassidy
Cassidy was a Democrat until 2004. Therefore your claim that you never vote Democrat is false.
Still waiting for you to defend McConnell's calling the Infrastructure Bill a GODSEND and then giving Schumer a lifeline with the debt ceiling.

Agreed, but provided there is a Democrat candidate, Cassidy won't make the runoff.

Do not underestimate the devotion of the Masked Covidians to vaccine. Landry battling the vaccine is popular on the PoliBoard but not necessarily among everyone in the state.
I think you have miscalculated that assessment. But, i guess we will find out.

And where is this propping up of Cassidy for governor coming from? Has he indicated that he may look at that at some point or something?
I think a lot of people are taking Mann's speculation as a feeler planted by Cassidy's people.

Trumpists ain’t pulling the lever for KCP (sure, some may opt not to cast a vote for Gov),
Correct, but they aren't pulling it for Cassidy, either. They will stay home and once again pretend to themselves that the legislature will somehow grow balls and stand up against Governor KCP.
Meanwhile, the Republican Women of Jefferson Parish will be excited to vote for a black female for governor, because, wow, how exciting will that be?!?!

Dems aren’t voting for Landry.
This is true, but I see absolutely 0 percent chance that there is a Cassidy-Landry runoff. A democrat will make the runoff. A democrat always makes the runoff in LA, if there is a runoff.

Why would any self described conservative want Cassidy as their governor?
Cassidy voted with Trump 89% of the time.

Well if they're reading this, hopefully this will help: don't waste yours or anyone else's time and money. You ain't got this.

I'm quite certain that's not exactly how he'd describe his voting history.

I'm not sure on this.

Best case scenario for Landry is to hope that the Ds think KCP is their woman....in that case she probably gets less than 50% in the jungle primary and Landry has a good chance to get the biggest percent of the R votes assuming the state GOP and Cassidy/Nungesser don't Vitter him.
Worst case scenario is if the Ds come up with some way to make Cassidy the best of the worst from the beginning in the jungle primary with no real candidate of their own (aka they tell KCP to sit this one out)....in that case you still might be right there may not be 2 Rs in the runoff....Cassidy probably wins it outright.

I’d rather see Cassidy as Governor and Landry as Senator than Landry as Governor and Cassidy as Senator.
If we have to have Landry somewhere in an elected position, Congress is probably the best place for him. He can throw bombs all day long - which is what he lives to do - easily there.
And a Good Cop / Bad Cop routine between Kennedy and Landry as our senators would be HILARIOUS to watch.

There’s not a Democrat in Louisiana that could get a Republican to vote for him after Republicans for JBE.
Now you are completely wrong. Just about every single Republican for JBE is perfectly happy with the job JBE is doing. because... "I mean... he's doing the best he can with the hand he was dealt! He could do better if people would just get their shot!" - actual Republicans for JBE that I know say this all the time.

That fricking RINO bitch couldn't win for Governor if he handed out 100.00 bills at the voting booth.
frick that embarrassment to Louisiana.

He has an 83% Conservative voting record according to the American Conservative Union, but some of his votes belie this "conservative" record.
Take This FWIW

Remember, LA, ESPECIALLY when it comes to governor, is the least red Southern State there is, for now at least until GA finishes turning blue.
A generic Democrat - assuming they don't have some late-race major scandal - will get 35% of the jungle primary vote. That will put them in the runoff.
In a Landry - Generic Dem - Cassidy Jungle... I think you end up somewhere around...
Landy 40
Generic Dem 35
Cassidy 25
So then the question is... assuming Landry and Generic Dems both show up on Runoff day... can Landry peel away 40% of Cassidy supporters? Personally, I don't think he can.
I'd love to see polling on Landry's undecided favorable/unfavorable. I'd have to imagine he would poll favorable and unfavorable close to 100. Not many people are unsure about Landry... they love him or hate him.
In a Landry / Generic Dem race, I think you have a repeat of 2015 and 2019. The "moderates" will think Landry is too mean and will go to the softer Dem.

Voting to convict former president Donald Trump in February in his second impeachment trial WAS political suicide for a Republican senator from deep-red Louisiana.
Cassidy is trash.
The only way he could win is another dominion steal.
I just hope Louisiana doesn't fall for it again.

You are exactly correct Mickey.
That’s what I’m trying to explain to Sentrius but he’s too busy calling me a cocksucker and failing to apologize for it.
Cassidy isn’t running for Governor bc Republicans want to. He cut a deal with JBE- bc JBE is smart enough to know there’s no other Democrat palatable statewide, but that Cassidy is the Republican that Democrats would vote for.
