It's a shame, but I don't think he'd been doing much anyway. Maybe he can get in some Netflix projects.

Can't let the left know you're not with them

"I don't find his impression to be comical," Schneider told the Daily News. "Because, like I said, I know the way his politics lean and it spoils any surprise. There's no possible surprise. He so clearly hates the man he's playing."

He makes a good point. The entire point of a punchline is to hear the unexpected. Who laughs at what they can already foresee?

Wonder if Adam Sandler will still put him in his shitty movies.

"The fun of 'Saturday Night Live' was [...] you never knew which way they leaned politically," Schneider told The New York Daily News on Friday. "You kind of assumed they would lean more left and liberal, but now the cat's out of the bag [and] they are completely against Trump, which I think makes it less interesting because you know the direction the piece is going."
He's right. It wasn't just SNL, though. The MSM in general has always had a liberal bias but they used to at least try to keep up a facade of independence. These days the mask is off and they try to outdo themselves with how much they can shill for the left while trying to destroy the right. It's unwatchable.

I may have to drink a cold one later while I watch Deuce Bigalo, Male Jigalo...an underrated classic.

Baldwin's portrayal is more of a straight man now. He does have some zingers but he is the set up for other jokes.

I found the first couple impressions funny but now? Meh.

He's not exactly in his prime

Hopefully it won't hurt his daughter's career

Yeah because his career was lightning hot the past 20 years right?

It's ok Rob, nobody has watched SNL for 10+ years.

I concur wholeheartedly with Dear Leader, El Pollo Grande, who might be clucked but ain't cucked.

I missed the "career" part of the thread title on first reading. Oops.

It's like therapy to them. My SO's mom, who never watched SNL or Colbert prior to Trump, tunes in on a regular basis and laughs at unfunny Derangement jokes.

Go watch Phil Hartman’s impersonation of Trump from the late 80s early 90s to see a real, funny, dead on act. Makes Baldwin seem that much worse in comparison.

And it’s done purely for jest and mockery, none of the pure hate and over the top stupidity that makes the current impersonation just not funny.

To be fair, with the current state of Schneider's career, it's really more of a DNR than a suicide.

I hope he does another season of Real Rob on Netflix.

I watched that show and laughed quite a bit. Was not what I was expecting, went in with very low expectations, and I thought they made a very good show.

Jamie is awesome!

I follow him on Twitter. His tweets indicate that he has been "woke" for a while now.

Looks like all of the celebs South Park made fun of are starting to hop on the Trump Train! Choo-choo motherfrickers!

Phil Hartman was so underrated. He was awesome.

Daryl Hammond does a pretty decent Trump.

Adam Sandler won’t let his buddy down. He’ll be in any project Sandler ever does. He takes care of his friends and I get the impression he doesn’t give a shite about this kind of stuff.
