RFK’s most famous stance will be his anti-vax views, and that will land more with Right in some of those states than with the Left.

Except for a handful of idiots the covid-19 vaccine will not be a political issue in the election unless Biden goes off the rails and tries to mandate it again.

Think about this. Trump is leading all candidates in the polls and now there’s a formidable dem running Indy. This should be the end for Biden, right?

That demented fossil will “get” 85MM+ votes anyway. And all of the retards here will bury their heads in the sand and blame Trump.

Handfuls can matter in Georgia and Arizona. RFK’s foreign policy, economic, abortion, and gun control positions are going to be much more closely aligned with Trump populists than Biden democrats. And RFK will give voice to conspiracies. RFK is firmly on the left on the environment and health care.

Still believe this hurts Biden more (though ultimately will not be consequential) - but RFK’s message will find a home with populist inclined Trump voters.

He is a trial lawyer profiteer who has made a fortune stirring up people, raising money through a non profit, creating class action lawsuits with the proceeds and the collecting hundreds of millions.

He sucks.

My god, the amount of stupidity and twisting your brains to come up with……this hurts Trumps, is down right laughable and scary at the same time!

Critical thinking went out the window apparently!!

A Kennedy, will NOT pull Trump or conservative voters, the only voters he’s going to pull are blue collar democrats that are dumb enough to still pull the lever for the Democratic Party!!

He and his his family are lifelong/generational democrats, don’t be a fool he’ll pull democrats if he runs. I think Perot was actually a republican, and Bush was very moderate, not conservative.

I don't have a poll, but I'd say, anecdotally, it's the majority of people I meet in my personal and business life that don't want Biden or Trump and are looking at this as a lesser than 2 evils situation, followed closely by people that want Trump, followed very much further by people that want Biden.

Can't say I've interacted with anyone other than a progressive in my family that is happy with Biden and wants him again.

It's not that radical a claim that majority of voters don't want Biden or Trump, I've seen polls that say majority of dems don't want biden, so the classification of not wanting either would capture Republicans and Democrats, and also that doesnt mean they wouldnt vote for Biden or Trump so it's a ambiguous sentiment.

How will that interact with a 3rd party candidate in RFK? Can he actually appeal more than trump or biden to lesser of evil voters? Who fkn knows, but it will shake things up for sure.

If you want to know who this will hurt the most watch the media during the debates.

If RFK will hurt the Democrats the media will insist he has no place in the debates and won’t talk about him at all.

If RFK hurts Trump the media will insist he take part in the debates and they will give him an equal amount of coverage as the two main people.

This hurts Biden and helps Trump. Trump isn’t losing any of his 75 million votes he had in 2020. Pedo Joe loses a lot of the votes he didn’t have and some he had in 2020. Will make the cheating even harder!!

We’re gonna have four candidates with a decent nationwide following. Trump, GOPe’s favorite RINO of the month (I’d say Haley), Biden or other other Democrat elite (Gavin, Kamala, Michelle Obama), and Kennedy.

Anyone know when the last major 4 person presidential race was held?

I know there have always been minor party candidates, but I cannot recall recently a race with 4 major candidates garnering a few percentage points of the vote and winning a few states each.

The only race that I can remember from history class would have been the 1860 presidential race where you had the Democratic Party split North and South, Constitutional Union Party Candidate, and Abraham Lincoln as the Republican candidate.

You also had some 3 man races since World War II:
1948 - Truman, Dewey, Thurmond (Carried only 2% of the vote but won 4 states)
1968 - Nixon, Wallace, and Humphrey (won 5 states and 13.5% of the vote)
1980 - Reagan, Carter, and Anderson (won 6% of the vote, but no states)
1992 - Clinton, Bush, and Perot (won 19% of the vote, but won no states)
1996 - Clinton, Dole, and Perot (won 8% of the vote, but no states)

1912 was a 4 man race.
Wilson 435 Electoral Votes 41.8%
Roosevelt 88 Electoral Votes 27.4%
Taft 8 Electoral Votes 23.2%
Debs 0 Electoral Votes 6%

1860 4 Man Race
Lincoln 180 Electoral Votes 39.8%
Breckinridge 72 Electoral Votes 18.1%
Bell 39 Electoral Votes 12.6%
Douglas 12 Electoral Votes 29.5%

1824 4 Man Race
Jackson 99 Electoral Votes
John Quincy Adam’s 84 Electoral Votes
Crawford 41 Electoral Votes
Clay 37 Electoral Votes
Note: Because no one received a majority of electoral votes, the House elected John Quincy Adams with 13 states over Andrew Jackson’s 7 states. William Crawford carried 4 states.

That could be pretty significant.

No one who was even considering voting for the Democratic nominee will vote for RFK Jr.

So to the extent that his candidacy makes an impact, it’s going to be from the right or the 3rd party types.

It is. What isn’t huge is the amount of people who will vote for RFK Jr.

He’s not a serious candidate and he will have zero traction whatsoever in the general election.

RFK could give the white, suburban women who don’t like Trump a place to land that is not Biden.

Last third party candidate that I remember being part of the debates was Ross Perot in 1992, as most subsequent ones didn’t have a third party pulling much.

I think Nader was included in one debate in 2000.
