Remission v cure is the semantics I was speaking to.

I told you, you don't even know what you're arguing anymore

You responded semantics to my stating:

Significant psychiatric improvement =/= cure.

Where did I state remission?

You were responding to the screenshot of the ai overview I posted.

YOU mentioned significant improvement... I pointed out that you missed the word "remission" in that very same screenshot.

Caught up, now?

Back to the OP- nothing RFKjr said was technically incorrect. Which has been proven to you.

You mean the word remission next to Major Depressive Disorder, something of zero relevance on our discussion of whether the claim that ketogenic diet cures schizophrenia or BPD is supported by the evidence?

When did we shift to talking about depression ?

Unfortunately you aren’t yet.

It’s unequivocally incorrect. I can’t make you drink though, you have to connect these last two dots on your own.

What, verbatim, did RFKjr say that was incorrect? He cited two examples of diet "cured" mental illness. He implored people to eat better.

That 80something woman has been posted, as has a 30something bipolar.

Was it a lie?

What exactly did RFKjr say that was incorrect?

There really is no sense in arguing with that idiot. He’s some shithead lib that thinks he knows everything, even when you prove him wrong he will just try to argue with you in circles.

It’s a waste of time.

I love RFK but I would never take any medical advice from him.

I agree… he said RFKjr is wrong, got shown that wasn’t true, pivoted to “two people don’t mean anything”… round and round he goes.

I’m still laughing that we have people on here who think there’s nothing wrong with high carbohydrate high sugar diets

Not wonder our country is so fat sickly and obese.

So, when he says eat Whole Foods and get enough protein… you just what? Ignore it and nosh on twinkies?

Some things are true or common sense no matter who repeats it.

I learned about the Yuka app posting here last summer. Someone mentioned it after RFK made some wild claim last summer on another topic.

Either way, I immediately changed my diet upon getting that app. I refuse to eat anything that does not score green. My entire pantry got an overhaul.

I can honestly say that since I changed my diet I have never felt this good physically or mentally. It was the summer when I started it and within a month I got my six pack back due to losing weight in the right places (finally). Fast forward to the Holidays, the wife stated that she preferred I put on some weight. So, I purposely ate horribly for over a month.

Guess what? I didn't gain a pound. Not one. Still have my perfect waistline and I will be 50 soon.

So I do believe your diet has a profound effect on your overall well being, both physical and mental. To what extent? I'm sure its different for everyone.

Nothing wrong with cutting out processed carbs.

Most posters here probably need to.

Your telling me, if the son of Rob Reiner decided to do a keto style diet he would not have killed both of his elite hollywood parents.

Yes. He's fitter and feels better not poisoning his body. He doesn't get depressed and on drugs, he doesn't kill his parents.

Of course. He's reckless with language when it's his job to be precise. Lots of things can be helpful for chronic illnesses like schizophrenia, but that doesn't make them cures. To say that ketogenic diet cures schizophrenia implies that it's gone and doesn't return. There is no research that says that.

So just like the entire medical community and covid.

It might help if you think of the COVID vaccine example. People here rightly point out that the effectiveness was oversold even as it had a public health benefit.

I hate to break it to you because you think you know what you are talking about but as usual you don’t. Diet absolutely has a huge impact on your brains ability to function correctly and your mood swings. The drug regimens used to treat schizophrenia are extremely powerful and only treat the major symptoms. Quite frankly it is a very sad, extremely difficult existence and medicine is only partially effective assuming the patient actually takes it so a radical diet change could be just as effective because the sad reality is medicine doesn’t work on many patients other making them catatonic
