The issue is not that we don't have forms of ID.
The real issue, which most don't want to admit, is that you have 50 states each with independent rules about what is considered valid ID.
Each state is going to fix their ID system by whatever means benefits them. What we need is a UNIVERSAL ID system.

Same. I guess next time I might say I don't have it and see what happens then. If it starts to look like it's gonna be a fiasco and once I'm able to discern a little about what must happen next in order for me to be able to vote....I'll dig a little deeper in the ole pocket and miraculously find my ID.

We need a Constitutional Amendment for federal elections: Voter ID for all federal seats, either at a polling place, or preparing an absentee ballot ahead of the election at your local courthouse where it can be witnessed and affirmed. That won't stop state and local fraud (Washington DC has no business mandating local affairs), but there are other ways to deal with that problem that don't involve federalizing every last damn thing.

It was FREE in NC but it was still thrown out by the courts.
There are jackasses on this board who will argue to their dying breath that needing an ID to vote is racist and an undue hardship on poor people.

These are the same poor people, mind you, that have no trouble producing an ID to get whatever government help they receive, buy cigarettes and alcohol, and any other thing in daily life that requires an ID.

Even some banana republics have some from of voter ID. It makes zero sense for us to not have any. And the excuses the Dems make for not having one are as flimsy as their push for mail in voting over Covid concerns.

You are sadly mistaken. Real ID requirements were established in 2005. Some states haven't figured out how to or don't want to implement it. It's not hard, if you're not a moron or illegal.

So what? States control elections, not FedGov. As long as you present what is considered a valid ID by your state's law, then vote away.

I really don’t see how Democrats keep getting away with saying that black and Hispanic people are too stupid to get an ID. If you are smart enough buy a beer, check into a hotel room, or fly alone on an airplane, you should be smart enough to vote with an ID.

Then that defeats their argument of not everyone can afford an ID even though it's a bullshite argument
Exactly. It’s a 30 cent piece of government plastic. That I don’t mind being on the taxpayers dime. It ends the argument from both sides. It shows immediately that the Democrats lie when that alone would significantly improve someone’s life that doesn’t have an ID.
