The Parliamentarian (fyi, a Democrat) determined it needed 60 votes. Under the Harry Reid rule, it wouldve needed just 50 with Vance as tie breaker.

This seems like the easiest thing to understand. With the current makeup of the republican representatives and senators this bill is the best possible.
I also see Milei and Argentina brought up and what they have accomplished. We haven't been through what Argentina has. If you do a tiny bit of investigation you will see why Milei is able to do what he is doing.
To argue that we could have anything approaching Milei policies shows very little understanding.

Think this was more about putting 44 Dems on record for supporting benefits for illegals.
They hopefully have a work around language wise to make it work for reconciliation and 50+1

Op and many others never took civics in high school, nor research before spouting off. Many never served in military to learn wst strategy. You don't die on every hill, losing a battle does not mean you lost the war. Please educate yourself as many in this thread suggest
