Hopefully so. Otherwise those of you who worked their asses off will be hosed.

Don’t even get me started on the new “pass/fail” standards in medical school. I have a child in medical school right now and it’s infuriating.

They take a quiz and get a grade. Then they retake the same test in a small group (where they discuss the answers) and they get another grade. Those two grades are averaged to determine each students final grade.

My child usually scores above 95% on their own. But the “group” won’t listen to the correct answers and they collectively vote to write an incorrect answer down. Then my child’s grade gets averaged down 5-10 points each time.

Your child goes to a shitty medical school. P/F is one thing....I've never heard of a system like you are describing.

Someone should tell that to the Asians.

Yep, S. Korea and Japan in particular.

is not education, its not buying into education and tying it to the future.

Single parent households don't help this at all.

As someone in health care, all I can say is try to stay healthy. Medical schools have lowered their admission standards and curriculums. They're emphasizing woke courses now.
Research your prospective docs carefully.

That's absurd; you don't inherit education.

All me & my families doctors are Indian (dot) or Asian. I would encourage everyone to do the same.

The West will deny racial IQ differences at its peril.

We held back blacks from education and wonder why they are so behind. That being said, pushing them to the front isn't a good idea

Black kids from families in the upper income quintile score lower on the SAT and ACT than Whites kids from families in the lower income quintile. This has been a well-established phenomenon for decades.

And no, wealthy blacks aren't less educated than poor Whites.

So is the woke mob saying minorities aren't smart enough to pass their exams in medical school. Sounds racist to me.

That it takes many generations. All it takes is one generation. One generation that doesn’t believe the f*cking lies and racist garbage spewed by the left about how they can’t get ahead because of white supremacy and racism.

This is the exact intended result of LBJ and the Democrat's Great Society. Democrats need an underclass that will remain an underclass in order for them to keep their power.

How many generations ago did LBJ state these immortal words....

And everything the Democrats have done in the last 60 years has made sure the blacks remain an underclass that will keep voting to stay on the Democrat Plantation.

Some can break the cycle, many cannot. It isn't just for black people as it is easy to see in other races. Hell, just look around Louisiana. You have to change the home life as well. It takes someone breaking the cycle, becoming educated, and operating their home differently for the next generation

It’s about the entire culture. It’s a culture that was created by the Democrats, LBJ, and the racist Great Society.

And, as long as liberals keep indoctrinating them into this racist bullshite about how they are ENTITLED TO ANYTHING strictly because of the color of their skin, their culture will never change.

Wrong; the person breaking the cycle doesn't need anything but maybe a GED and values to operate their house differently. Their children will be the beneficiaries, whether that's trade school, 4 year degree, whatever.

My grandfather was one of 12 and had to leave at 18 because family farming income had dwindled and the farm couldn't support extra mouths to feed. This was rural Tennessee, and they kept their milk in the creek to keep it cold. My father hitchhiked back and forth to Georgia Tech and paid his way through school on a co-op program, my way was paid by him, my childrens' paid by me. A Tennessee peckerwood with a HS diploma and a work ethic made that happen and it didn't take generations.

Agreed. This takes time is my point.

it's supposed to be hard to get in. That's sorta the point. If I'm laying on a table bleeding out internally, I don't want a D student diversity hire working on me. I want the best and brightest, no matter their color. Frick, this world has gone to hell.

Might be referring to TBL (team based learning) sessions. A lot of schools do them now but they (usually multiple sessions combined) only usually account for a tiny portion (like 2-3%) of your final course grade

You won't get the best and the brightest. Post covid students are seeing medicine for what it is. It is a field that has now become corporatized while at the same time having salaries cut every year and yet patients still demand "the best". While at the same time whine and complain that "doctors make too much". Not to mention malpractice rates are going up because people are sue happy over things outside of the docs control.

The future of medicine is not bright. It won't be long before premed applicants take notice. You are already seeing the best and the brightest going into investment banking and software engineering.
