What?
It's nothing of the sort
It speaks to one of the hearts of the issue, and how that applies to spinoffs like Islam and Mormonism (or even weirder ones)

No...

The Bible is a letter written to us, not a blueprint of everything God ever made. It’s like a parent talking to their child, they don’t explain their whole career; they just tell the kid what they need to know to grow up right. In John 10:16, when Jesus says, "I have other sheep that do not belong to this fold," he’s basically admitting he’s got things going on that we aren't part of. If we find out tomorrow there are aliens or demons, it doesn't change the instructions he gave us..
So if these aliens come with a completely different religion and understanding of the universe, what do we extrapolate from that?

This aliens vs religion stuff is getting a little tiresome.
Show me Jesus or an alien I will make my mind up.
Seems like both sides have the same amount of evidence. All hear say. An old book written by men vs blurry pictures and shady witnesses accounts.
I may have to give the religion guys some points in the spread, seems like the alien team may at least have some hard evidence.

I’m not right. Scripture is. Don’t trust me. Trust the word of God instead.
The same word of God that says that it would happen within the lifetimes of the first Christians? Yeah, it’s wrong.

My two assumptions:
1) There are other forms of life in the universe, maybe even intelligent life on par with humans.
2) They are too far away to ever make it to our solar system.

The REAL question, my atheist friend, is what if they come with a confirmation of the Christian religion? What would YOU extrapolate from that?

I personally look forward to knowing and pledge my fealty to our alien overlords and look forward to serving them even as I am slowly ground into fine dust by the sheer magnaminity of their exploitation and inspired cruelty.
I can't wait.
I can't wait.

Christianity is not “an old book written by men” in the same sense alien claims are blurry photos and internet stories. Christianity is rooted in actual historical claims tied to real people, places, governments, cities, rulers, and eyewitness testimony inside living memory of the events.
Paul’s letters were circulating within decades of the crucifixion. The apostles didn’t get rich or powerful from the claim. Most got persecuted or killed for it. And the resurrection claim exploded in the exact city where Jesus was publicly executed.
Meanwhile, modern alien discourse is mostly:
-grainy footage
-anonymous leaks
-speculation layered onto speculation.
Also, saying “show me Jesus physically right now or it’s all equal” is a weird standard nobody applies consistently. You’ve never directly seen Alexander the Great either, but you believe he existed because of cumulative historical evidence.
Not all evidence is laboratory evidence. Historical evidence is still evidence.
And honestly, if the standard is “I won’t believe anything unless I personally see it,” then you’d have to throw out most of ancient history overnight.

God created the heavens and the Earth. Why would he only create life here? The heavens is a big place.
Did Jesus go on a tour of the Universe dying for everyone’s sin?

No one wants to have conversations about what a “God” is.
No one wants to discuss how demons and angels could easily be code for positive or negatively oriented advanced beings.
For some reason most people get lost in the labels instead of focusing on what they do.

It would depend on their evidence, the history, etc.
A better question is how significant a fact/variable would need to be in order to have an impact on Christianity by being left out of the Bible
A new holy book?
A new savior?
A proclamation of polytheism?
Clearly these would significantly change Christianity as it's understood on Earth, correct?

Prove life elsewhere first then we will talk.

What he did, in practice, was interpret the Bible according to other writings, like the Book of Enoch, and used ANE myths to shed light on biblical interpretation.
I have read a lot of his work and listened to his podcasts, so I'm interested to understand where Heiser lets Enoch override the Hebrew/Greek text instead of using it as background information. Is there a commentary or information you can point me to?

If there is life on other planets…. Is there a god?

not sure but, i do know that he did Joseph wrong. he could've made Jesus out of clay like adam and save Joseph a whole lot of questioning.

Uggggg. Atheist, grab snippets and think they know the Bible.. if you look at the context of those verses (like Matthew 24), Jesus was talking about two different things at once: the destruction of the Temple in Jerusalem, which did happen within that generation in 70 A.D.,and the final end of the world, which He explicitly said only the Father knows the timing of. He wasn't "wrong"; he was answering a specific question about the temple's downfall while warning that the ultimate end is a total mystery.
