Not disagreeing with that at all. Cornyn people need to suck it up. You are either on team GOP or you are not.

Of course, I've seen it in reverse. When Thad Cochran beat McDaniel in 2014, well, the McDanielites threw their own tantrum and refused to support him in the general. Human nature is human nature.

Mississippi doesn’t share a border with Mexico, Texas does and Republicans in Texas better be comfortable with becoming a dumping ground for immigrants because Democrats know if they can flip Texas it’s over. Personally, I would hate it for the good people who live there but at some point moderates and independents need to suffer the consequences of their votes. I hope they all get culturally enriched

You say Talarico is a bad candidate, but he leads in just about every poll taken. It could be that Paxton however is just a really bad candidate. Talarico is embracing the retail end of campaigning which is still important . Even if you are bad at it, voters generally tend to reward the guy who shows he wants it more and demonstrates that he's willing to go out, press the flesh, give 3 speeches a day, kiss the babies, do photo ops , etc. Forget message, if Paxton isn't finding his footing, it's not because the press shilling for him and hoping that someone else can define him .

He's hoping for a major misstep, against a disciplined campaigner . That's a risky strategy. George HW Bush went that route in 1992. He was a one term President

Cornyn lost the primary, why this is lost on Republicans is beyond me. Cornyn lost because he was a useless RINO yet people blame Paxton. At the end of the day, if Republicans in Texas stay home or vote for Talerico then they deserve everything they get which will be an open southern border the minute Trump leaves office. If being upset over Cornyn causes you to lose Texas to illegals and the Democrats then you have no one to blame but yourself. The average American voter is incredibly stupid

Spot on brother. The useless GOP voters that rely on the MSM to shape their opinion of a candidate is laughable. Cornyn was RINO that voted for the establishment. Paxton is up against a queer freak that is for everything you stated. If any GOP / 'conservative' / right wing voter sits at home for the election they deserve what the little F@g will bring them.

This could be occurring out of spite from the GOP establishment's bitterness over Sen. John Cornyn's (R-TX) primary defeat

I can definitely see RINOs acting like this.

Mark Davis is as plugged in to Texas politics as anyone and he's not buying the Talerico sweepstakes.

If Paxton doesn't get out and campaign and define Talarico, it doesn't matter if others do it, he has to. Talarico is outhustling him

Paxton is proving to be a poor retail candidate

I meant Talarico dummy, that's the problem with clowns like you, it's all about owning the other side. Now, if only Paxton would do the same, he'd be up 4 or 5 pts. Instead he's gallivanting in Iceland with Tracy Duhon.

Firstly, if I misconstrued, that’s certainly on me. But then I notice this lazy, mindless, washed up trope and it gives me a pretty good idea of what I’m dealing with here.

You can primary people all you want. Just make sure that the candidate is better than what you’re replacing.

Paxton is a better conservative than Cornyn. He better represents our policies.

Should we continue voting for Republicans in primaries who are more appealing to democrats and independents to make the general easier?

That seems counterintuitive after all our complaints about the senate not passing laws we want because of people like Cornyn.

You do some independent polling? Or are you just listening to the democrat run polls and media

The money gap is the effect, not the cause

After winning the primary Paxton didn’t make a single campaign appearance for 7 weeks. 6 days later Talarico was on an anti-Paxton tour

Instead of using momentum to aggressively try to mend rifts with Cornyn loyalists and taking his opposition seriously he’s twiddled his thumbs. Control of the Senate might come down to TX and he’s been pulling a Hillary not even bothering. The entitlement has been disgraceful

Talarico might be the biggest loser fairy to run, but he’s running. Paxton isn’t. It doesn’t require money to show up. Why would donors back a loser who hasn’t taken the campaign seriously? He’s the reason his arse is getting kicked in funding and his sloth has done nothing but enable the opposition and its own funding

Texas is as red as it was in 2024. But if a candidate who’s not personally liked can’t even be bothered to try and correct it, the race isn’t red vs blue anymore. It’s actual person vs ghosting douchebag. Hopefully he figures it out but he’s clearly been surrounded by idiots

You're seeing this through a thick MAGA lens. He's not that bad for DEMs and the DEMs in TX hate Trump and Paxton. That's the main theme of the DEM vote

He is obviously homo.

Twist the bible and Jesus with demonic BS , should be a big deal in Texas.

Wants to mutilate kids.

If he wins, and he might. That is a huge shift.
