Indians introduced the colonists and Europe to tobacco. Prior to cotton it was our biggest export. It’s not like they named it Red Boy or Red Bitch. There’s nothing wrong with Red Man.

Fortunately I gave up that vice years ago. It is terrible for you. But I still miss my Redman.

A lot of people can't handle Red Man, saying its too strong. To each their own, I find Levi Garrett or Red Man golden blend to be a bit bland.

First time for me was the Summer of 82, when I was going through OCS in Quantico. The platoon was standing in formation after a meal. We weren't allowed to smoke, but the guy standing next to me was chewing tobacco. I asked to try some, he handed over a packet of Redman and warned me "don't swallow any."
I started chewing. Pretty sweet at first, then I thought I was going to die. Kept at it, though.
I thought the name was safe, given its customer base. Guess not.

I chew Red Man (Select, Golden Blend, Silver Blend, Regular) whatever I can get my hands on.
Just bought a 3 pack of Beech Nut (red pack) in my hometown this weekend. Of course they sell tobacco I can't get in AL. King B and Red Ox twist tobacco, Beech Nut Wintergreen, the different plugs like my papaw chewed, etc.
I don't like dip because the particles get stuck between my teeth while pouch tobacco don't.
Papaw preferred Thick Apple brand plug tobacco and when he couldn't get that he bought BloodHound or Days Work.
